Michigan Wolverines Betting Preview

Michigan looked pretty great in the win column for most of the year, but they did falter a bit at the end of the regular season. The Wolverines managed a solid 13-3 start with losses to only Wake Forest, Arkansas and Oklahoma. A 1-2 stretch with losses to Minnesota and Purdue (around a win over Northwestern) came in January, then wins over Penn State, Rutgers, Oregon, Indiana, Purdue, Ohio State, Nebraska and Rutgers again in the next nine games. After losses to Illinois, Maryland and Michigan State the Wolverines took out Purdue, Maryland and Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tournament on the way to the championship. After a win over UC San Diego on Thursday, the Wolverines hold a 26-9 record this year so far.

In the Thursday matchup with UC San Diego, Michigan came out of the first half with a 41-27 advantage. The Wolverines had to hang on during a 38-27 second half but ended up with the win 68-65. Tops in scoring was Vladislav Goldin with 14 points and seven rebounds. Tre Donaldson added 12 points with seven boards as well. Roddy Gayle put up 11 points with two boards in 27 minutes off the bench.

Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview

Over on the Texas A&M side, they had a rough run at the end of February but otherwise carded a nice record in the regular season. The Aggies were 13-2 at the 15-game mark with losses to only UCF and Oregon. More losses to Alabama, Kentucky and Texas (with wins our LSU and Ole Miss) came in the next five games, then wins over Oklahoma, South Carolina, Missouri, Georgia and Arkansas. Texas A&M would lose to Mississippi State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Florida before wins over Auburn and LSU. Following a double-overtime loss to Texas in the conference tournament, the Aggies beat Yale in First Round action on Thursday. That gives Texas A&M a 23-10 record through 33 games this year so far.

In the Yale matchup during First Round activity on Thursday, the Aggies were in the locker room with a 40-29 advantage. Texas A&M scored 40 more points the rest of the way during an 80-71 victory. Leading the way was Pharrel Payne, who came off the bench for 25 points and 10 rebounds on a double-double. Wade Taylor led the starters with 16 points and five assists, while Jace Carter notched 10 bench points with four rebounds in just nine minutes of work.

Texas A&M vs Michigan Prediction

I’ll lean toward Texas A&M. This should be a pretty excellent matchup regardless, though. The Aggies didn’t have a ton of issues with Yale in their Thursday game, posting a nice 51.7 percent shooting with a 37-29 rebounding edge. It wasn’t a perfect effort though, as Texas A&M went just 6-of-25 (24 percent) from outside and 12-of-21 (57.1 percent) from the line alongside 11 turnovers. Still, that makes 80 or more points in three of the last four games (a 3-1 run) for the Aggies, including a nice win over a great Auburn team.

As for Michigan, things got a little too close for comfort in the second half of the UC San Diego game on Thursday. The Wolverines ended up shooting a tepid 42.1 percent from the floor and just 11-of-20 (55 percent) from the free throw line in the victory, but did have a 43-37 rebounding advantage. The major issue however, was the 14 turnovers for 15 UC San Diego points. Michigan really needs to clean up the ball-handling issues in this matchup or they’ll be in trouble. Should be a great game to watch, though.

Yale Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Bulldogs didn’t start out the season so hot this year, but once the Ivy League games kicked off Yale really got rolling. A 6-6 record awaited the Bulldogs over their first 12 outings, featuring losses to UIC, Purdue, Minnesota, Delaware, Rhode Island, and UTEP. After a winning streak over Howard, Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, Penn, Cornell, Penn, Princeton, Cornell, Columbia, and Dartmouth in succession, the Bulldogs took a loss to Harvard. Since then it’s been wins over Brown, Princeton, and Cornell on the way to a 22-7 record across 29 games this year—and an Ivy League championship.

In the final round of the conference tournament versus Cornell, Yale held a five-point edge by the break. The Bulldogs maintained form on a 53-52 run from there, powering out a 90-84 win in the end. Leading team scorer John Poulakidas carded 25 points with three rebounds and three assists, while Nick Townsend added 19 points with five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Bez Mbeng put up 15 points with seven boards and four assists in 40 minutes. Tops off the bench was Isaac Celiscar with nine points, four rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes.

Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview

Over on the Texas A&M side, they’ve had a couple of sketchy runs amid a pretty tough schedule this year, but overall they’re doing well. The Aggies went 13-2 over their first 15 outings of the season, falling to UCF and Oregon during that time. A 2-3 run with losses to Alabama, Kentucky, and Texas (with wins over LSU and Ole Miss) came next, then five straight wins over Oklahoma, South Carolina, Missouri, Georgia and Arkansas. After losses to Mississippi State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Florida, the Aggies beat Auburn and LSU before a double-OT loss to Texas. In total that gives Texas A&M a 22-10 record across 32 games so far.

Matched up against Texas last Thursday, the Aggies were down by six points at the break. Texas A&M posted a 46-40 run the rest of the way to force overtime, but when the dust settled the Aggies had a loss of 94-89. Wade Taylor was the team’s lead scorer in the defeat with 29 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Both Andersson Garcia (13 points; 10 rebounds) and Henry Coleman (10 points; 13 rebounds) carded double-doubles in the losing effort as well.

Texas A&M vs Yale Prediction

I’m going to take a stab at Yale here. The Bulldogs have their hands full with a tricky matchup against a top-shelf national squad in this game, but I think they’re lucky enough to stay in range. Yale gave up 55.8 percent shooting to a pretty good Cornell team in their last outing though, and lost the rebounding battle 30-27. That said, the Bulldogs shot 50 percent from the field themselves with 56.5 percent (13-of-23) from 3-point range and just three turnovers. That sort of discipline and long-range scoring will be huge here. Yale has scored well also, with fewer than 70 points in just two of the last 19 games—a 17-2 run.

As for Texas A&M, they’re coming off a frustrating loss to a tricky Longhorns squad and will be looking to take out their frustrations on the national stage. Texas A&M shot just 34.7 percent from the field and 27-of-40 (67.5 percent) from the line in their loss to Texas, alongside 13 turnovers for 12 Longhorns points. The Aggies have been giving up some pretty hefty points totals since mid-February, so if Yale can get the 3-point bombs going early the Bulldogs might have a cover chance.

The Texas Longhorns recently played Mississippi State, Oklahoma, and Vanderbilt. Texas has a chance to win two straight games for the first time since January 21-25.

It has been a disappointing season for Texas, but we’ve seen flashes here and there. The Longhorns can put together strong performances when motivated. It’s do or die in a spot like this for Texas. I’ll take a shot with the points against a Texas A&M squad that’s not in great form entering the tournament.

Also, let’s not act like Texas A&M is lighting the world on fire, as it was riding a four-game losing streak before beating an Auburn team that wasn’t at full strength. Don’t forget Texas A&M recently losing at home to Vanderbilt as an eight-point favorite. It’s senior night for an LSU roster that has a lot of experienced players. If there was ever a game for LSU to put together one last decent effort, this would be it. I’ll take a stab with LSU and the points at home.

What a Slide for Texas A&M

Just a few weeks ago, Texas A&M looked like one of the best teams in college basketball, but that has all fallen apart, and they have lost four games in a row. In the last game against Florida, the defense couldn’t do anything all night, giving up 89 points, which led to the defeat. They gave up 45 points in the first half, and in the second half, it got even worse. They allowed Florida to shoot 42.4 percent from deep, and they need the defense to better from deep here. Zhuric Phelps was the top offensive player, putting up 16 points and five rebounds. 

Texas A&M has a 20-9 overall record and 14-13-2 against the spread. For most of the season, Texas A&M’s defense has been good, so it was a bit shocking how bad it looked against Florida. In each of the last three games, the defense has given up at least 77 points. The defense overall is still ranked 56th in the league. Wade Taylor IV is averaging 15.1 points, and he helps pace the Aggies’ offense. 

Auburn is the Real Deal

Auburn keeps getting thrown tests, and they pass with flying colors. At this point, it would be shocking if they weren’t the number one overall seed in the tournament. In the last game, they went on the road to face a very good Kentucky Wildcats team, and they put up 94 en route to the 16-point victory. The Tigers continued their hot shooting, hitting 51.8 percent of their shots and 44.4 percent from behind the three-point line. Miles Kelly was the star who stepped up, putting up 30 points, two rebounds, and one assist. 

Auburn has a 27-2 record overall and is 18-11 against the spread. Away from home straight up, they have gone 8-1. Auburn’s defense is solid, but their offense is the strength, averaging 85.4 points per game. Johni Broome is averaging 18.4 points while shooting 50.5 percent and grabbing 10.8 rebounds per game. He gets the attention, but six players average at least 10 points per game. 

Why Auburn Will Beat Texas A&M

Whether it’s Broome, Miles Kelly, Denver Jones, or someone else, Auburn just has too many talented scorers, and they are going to run up the score here. Auburn has been just as good on the road, and they will cruise. Auburn is 5-0 against the spread in their last five road games. They will make that 6-0 here. Back Auburn against the spread.

The Aggies have really relied on their defense this season, but they have allowed 86 and 77 points in their last two games. I do think Florida gets the win in this game, but I think this is too many points for a Florida team that has had some struggles in their last two games. Take A&M here.

It feels like the Texas A&M Aggies are getting the benefit of the doubt because they’re at home, where they’re 12-1 SU on the season. It also feels like oddsmakers have cooled off on the Vols due to three losses in the last month, but Tennessee is still fourth in scoring defense, first in field goal defense and third in three-point percentage defense. Tennessee has four road wins this season. Tennessee is too good of a basketball team to turn down in the underdog role, and this will be just the seventh time since February of last year where the Vols are an underdog. I get it’s an early start and Texas A&M fans will be going nuts. I still want the free bucket with a defensive minded Tennessee team that’s battle tested and doesn’t go down easily. Give me the bucket with the Vols on the road in what should be a fun SEC showdown.

Texas A&M started out on a 4-2 run with wins over East Texas A&M, Lamar, Ohio State, and Southern during that time. The Aggies would hit a winning streak after that, taking out Creighton, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Texas Tech, Purdue, Houston Christian, Abilene Christian, Texas, and Oklahoma. Following losses to Alabama, Kentucky, and Texas over the next five games (with wins over LSU and Ole Miss in that time), the Aggies have since won another five straight. Those victories have come courtesy of Oklahoma, South Carolina, Missouri, Georgia, and Arkansas in succession. Overall through 25 games that gives Texas A&M a 20-5 record so far this season.

Over on the Mississippi State side, they were looking great in the record column back in early January but since then they’ve struggled amid some tough matchups. The Bulldogs lost just one of their first 15 games (versus Butler). Otherwise, it was wins over West Georgia, Georgia State, SE Louisiana, Utah, SMU, UNLV, Pitt, Prairie View, McNeese, Central Michigan, Memphis, Bethune-Cookman, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt in that time. Since then it’s been a 4-6 run across the last 10 games for the Bulldogs. The wins have come over Ole Miss, South Carolina, Georgia, and Ole Miss again. Otherwise, it was losses to Kentucky, Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama, Missouri, and Florida at that time. That gives the Bulldogs an 18-7 record so far through their first 25 games of the 2024-25 campaign.

Matched up against Ole Miss in the road rematch over the weekend, the Bulldogs held a 40-33 edge in the locker room. Mississippi State kept it up from there with a 41-38 run and took the eventual win 81-71. RJ Melendez led the team in scoring with 17 points, five rebounds, and a steal. Josh Hubbard bagged 14 points with five rebounds and four assists, and Riley Kugel had 11 points with three rebounds, three assists, and four steals. KeShawn Murphy and Claudell Harris each had 10 points off the bench as well.

I’ll take a stab at Mississippi State here. You could make an argument either way, though; we should have a fun matchup in-store. The Bulldogs put up another solid win over a good Ole Miss team in their last outing, posting a 48-36 rebounding edge, 38.3 percent shooting allowed from the field, and 15 points off 11 turnovers. It wasn’t perfect though, as the Bulldogs missed nine of their 27 free throws (66.7 percent) and had 13 turnovers themselves. Still, it was a nice bounce-back after a double-digit loss at home versus Florida last week.

As for Texas A&M, they’re sitting on a five-game win streak but they’ve been below 70 points in three straight games. This one’s looking like a pretty close fight, and I like Mississippi State to power it out in the end.

Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview

The Texas A&M Aggies are 19-5 (8-3) this year after they defeated Georgia by a score of 69-53 in their last game. Texas A&M trailed 32-23 at halftime, but they outscored Georgia by a total of 46-21 in the second half for the win. Georgia Bulldogs Betting Preview

Georgia kicked off the year on a pretty nice run. Once the calendar flipped over to 2025 however, the Bulldogs began to struggle in the record column. Georgia hit a 12-1 run in their first 13 outings, losing to only Marquette alongside wins over Tennessee Tech, Texas Southern, North Florida, Georgia Tech, Alabama A&M, St. John’s, Jacksonville, Notre Dame, Grand Canyon, Buffalo, Charleston Southern and South Carolina State. A 2-5 stretch came next with wins over Kentucky and Oklahoma alongside losses to Ole Miss, Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas and Florida. Since then it’s been a 2-2 run for the Bulldogs with wins over South Carolina and LSU amid losses to Alabama and Mississippi State, giving Georgia a 16-8 overall run through the first 24 outings of the season so far.

In the Mississippi State game on Saturday, the Bulldogs came out of the locker room with a 40-32 deficit. Georgia got better in the second, recovering on a 43-36 stretch but it wasn’t enough in a 76-75 defeat. Leading scorer Silas Demary posted 23 points with six rebounds and seven assists. Asa Newell added 16 points with four rebounds and three steals, while Dakota Leffew put up 12 points with two rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes of action.

Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview

Over on the Aggies’ side, they’ve really got only a rough five-game stretch in the books this year. Otherwise it’s been a very nice run overall. Texas A&M went 4-2 in their first six games with losses to UCF and Oregon, beating East Texas A&M, Lamar, Ohio State and Southern otherwise in that time. Wins over Creighton, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Texas Tech, Purdue, Houston Christian, Abilene Christian, Texas and Oklahoma came next, then losses to Alabama and Kentucky. Since then Texas A&M has been on a 5-1 run with a lone loss to Texas among wins over LSU, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Missouri in that time. The result so far has been an 18-5 overall run through 23 games for the Aggies.

In the Missouri game on Saturday, the Aggies were in firm control 38-29 by halftime. Texas A&M let up a little bit in the second on a 35-29 deficit but still held on for the win 67-64 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Pharrel Payne with 20 points, four rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Wade Taylor chipped in 15 points, and Zhuric Phelps added 14 points with two boards and two steals. Henry Coleman notched a team-high 16 rebounds along with his six points in 31 minutes of work as well.

I’ll stick with the Aggies. Texas A&M took out a pretty darn good Missouri team on the road in their last outing, thanks to a pretty solid 45.3 percent shooting and 34 rebounds. The Aggies did cough up 13 turnovers for 18 Tigers points in a fairly sloppy overall game (27 total turnovers) and went just 14-of-23 (60.9 percent) from the line. There’s plenty to clean up here, even after a nice win. That said, Texas A&M is 5-1 in their last six games and they’ve held opponents below 69 points in four of those six.

As for Georgia, they’ve been scoring pretty well lately but they’re also giving up quite a bit on the other side. The Bulldogs have 69 or more points in each of the last four games (a 2-2 run) so we should have a pretty decent total here. All things considered though, the Aggies should be in control.

I’m on Texas A&M in this one. I can understand the allure of taking points with Texas in the home underdog role, but the thing is that I don’t think a letdown is in store here for the Aggies as I think Texas A&M is just the far more talented lineup in this spot. I’m not really all that high on the Longhorns this season, as this is an inexperienced team for the most part that has had a hard time stringing positive results together against top-tier teams. The Aggies are coming off of that big win over Ole Miss and I think they keep the momentum going with a win and cover on the road here.

Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview

Overall the Aggies have been quite consistent so far this year. They’ve only experienced consecutive losses once so far. Texas A&M got off to a middling start over their first six games however, losing to UCF and Oregon among wins versus East Texas A&M, Lamar, Ohio State, and Southern otherwise. Texas A&M posted a 38-27 run the rest of the way however, eventually pulling off the win 68-57. Tops in scoring was Zhuric Phelps with 13 points, six boards, and six assists. Wade Taylor added 12 points with four rebounds, four assists, and two steals, while Henry Coleman also finished in double-figures with 10 points and two rebounds in the win.

Ole Miss Rebels Betting Preview

Over on the Ole Miss side, they’ve been a highly consistent team themselves so far this year. The Rebels have yet to lose consecutive games, though they are coming off a rough overtime loss in their latest outing. Ole Miss kicked off the year with a nice 11-1 overall run in their first dozen outings. The lone loss was versus Purdue; otherwise, it was wins over LIU, Grambling, South Alabama, Colorado State, Oral Roberts, BYU, Louisville, Lindenwood, Southern Miss, Southern, and Queens University in that stretch. Following another loss to Memphis on December 28, the Rebels beat Georgia, Arkansas, LSU, and Alabama in succession before falling to Mississippi State over the weekend. The Rebels currently sit at 15-3 overall through their first 18 games thus far.

In the Mississippi State game on Saturday, Ole Miss took a 37-29 deficit into the second half. The Rebels fought back valiantly on a 45-37 run in order to force overtime, but eventually lost in the extra period 84-81. Sean Pedulla was the high man among the starters with 18 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Jaemyn Brakefield added 20 points, seven rebounds and two assists off the bench, while Matthew Murrell chipped in 15 points.

Ole Miss vs Texas A&M Prediction

I’ll probably stay with Ole Miss. This should be a pretty great matchup though, and one of the highlights of the Wednesday college basketball schedule. The Rebels couldn’t quite topple Mississippi State in their last game, thanks mostly to an ugly 51-29 deficit (19-8 offensive) on the boards. Otherwise, Ole Miss didn’t play too badly, notching 45.5 percent shooting with 14 team assists. The rebounding disparity sticks out like the proverbial sore thumb, however. That said, the Rebels have scored 70 or more points in 14 of their last 15 games and should notch a high enough total to keep that run going here.

As for Texas A&M, they looked pretty good against a decent LSU team in their last outing, shooting 42.6 percent from the field alongside a 38-33 rebounding advantage. The Aggies have been below 70 points in consecutive games though, which is a bit of an anomaly for them this year. In any case, I like Ole Miss to power one out in a very entertaining matchup. Should be a fun game to check out.

The LSU Tigers lost to Ole Miss, beat Arkansas, and they play Alabama, Auburn, and Texas next. Kentucky bounced back in a big way in the last game. Two games ago, Kentucky faced off against Georgia and they scored 69 points, but the defense gave up 82 points and that led to the defeat. In the last game against Mississippi State, Kentucky scored 95 points on the way to the victory. At halftime, they were up 49-44 and they held on in the second half they held on for the win. Jaxson Robinson had a huge game putting up 27 points, three rebounds, and two assists. There were five different players that put up at least 10 points.

In fact, Texas hasn’t been an underdog since March, so the Longhorns have been far from battle-tested up to this point. We’re going to learn a lot about Texas in this spot on the road, win or lose.

Either way, Texas A&M has the defense to give the Longhorns fits, and they’re at home where they’re undefeated on the season. Texas A&M as allowed less than 70 points in five straight games and has covered all five of those games as well. A couple of those covers were outright wins in the underdog role. Texas A&M is simply the more proven and trustworthy team at this stage of the season. The line isn’t crazy. Give me the Texas A&M Aggies and the reasonable number at home.
