In this article we will formulate an Oilers vs Golden Knights prediction for this NHL game on Saturday, May 10th at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Edmonton Oilers Betting Preview

The Edmonton Oilers are up 2-0 in this series after they won game two in overtime by a score of 5-4 on Thursday night. Edmonton trailed 1-0 after the first period, but they led 4-2 early in the third. The Oilers allowed Vegas to tie the game, but they won late in the first overtime on a goal from Draisaitl. Edmonton recorded 37 shots on goal, won 43.4% of the face-offs, and went 0-3 on the power play in the game. The Oilers got goals from Draisaitl, Kane, Podkolzin, Nurse, and Walman, while Pickard stopped 28 out of 32 shots in the game.

Prior to that game, the Oilers won game one against Vegas by a score of 4-2. In the first round, Edmonton trailed the Kings 2-0, but they won four straight to advance to the second round. The Oilers have scored at least four goals in six of their eight playoff games this year. Edmonton has scored 3.16 goals per game and they have allowed 2.87 goals against per game, while also going 23.7% on the power play and 78.2% on the penalty kill this season. Connor McDavid has led Edmonton in the playoffs with two goals, 12 assists, and 30 shots on goal, while Leon Draisaitl has added five goals, eight assists, and 24 shots on goal. Calvin Pickard is 6-0 with a 2.84 goals against average and an .888 save percentage in the postseason.

Vegas Golden Knights Betting Preview

The Vegas Golden Knights are down 0-2 in the series and they desperately need a win here. In their game two loss, Vegas cut the deficit to 3-2 late in the second and they were able to score twice in the third to force overtime. The Golden Knights had a ton of great chances in overtime and they killed a five minute power play for Edmonton, but couldn’t stop McDavid on a late drive to the net. Vegas recorded 32 shots on goal, won 56.6% of the face-offs, and went 2-4 on the power play in the game. Vegas got goals from Karlsson, Olofsson (2), and Pietrangelo, while Hill stopped 32 out of 37 shots in the loss.

Prior to this series, the Golden Knights defeated Minnesota in six games to advance to the second round. Vegas trailed 2-1 in that series, but they won the last three games, allowing just two goals in games five and six. Vegas has scored 3.34 goals per game and they have allowed 2.61 goals against per game, while also going 28.3% on the power play and 75.7% on the penalty kill this season. Jack Eichel has led Vegas with one goal, eight assists, and 24 shots on goal, while Mark Stone has added four goals, four assists, and 19 shots on goal. Adin Hill is 4-4 with a 3.16 goals against average and an .874 save percentage this postseason.

Oilers vs Golden Knights Prediction

Edmonton comes into this matchup looking to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series, and they will be on home ice. The Oilers continue to play very well and they have won six games in a row in these playoffs. Vegas had plenty of chances to win game two, but they aren’t getting great goaltending from Hill. I do like how Vegas played in game two and let’s not forget the blown lead in game one, so they are only a few plays away from being up 2-0 themselves. I think Vegas with the plus money is the right move between two evenly matched teams. Take the Golden Knights here.
