Winnipeg Jets Betting Preview

The Winnipeg Jets are down 1-0 in the series after they lost game one by a score of 3-2. Winnipeg led 1-0 early in the second period, but they trailed 3-2 after two periods and couldn’t find any goals in the third for the loss. Winnipeg got goals from Niederreiter and Scheifele, while Hellebuyck stopped 21 out of 24 shots in the game.

Prior to this series, Winnipeg defeated the St. Louis Blues in seven games. In that series, Winnipeg won all four home games and was able to overcome terrible goaltending on the road to advance. Winnipeg has scored 3.35 goals per game and they have allowed 2.32 goals against per game, while also going 28.9% on the power play and 79.4% on the penalty kill this season. Kyle Connor has led Winnipeg with four goals, eight assists, and 25 shots on goal, while Scheifele and Appleton have added seven points each. Connor Hellebuyck is 4-4 this postseason with a 3.75 goals against average and an .836 save percentage.

The Dallas Stars are looking to take a 2-0 lead in the series after they won game one by a score of 3-2. Dallas was able to score three goals in about eight minutes in the second period, which was enough to sneak away with the win. The Stars recorded 24 shots on goal, won 54.3% of the face-offs, and went 1-2 on the power play in the game. Dallas got all three of their goals from Rantanen, while Oettinger stopped 29 out of 31 shots for the win.

Jets vs Stars Prediction

Both of these teams were able to win a game seven to advance to the second round, but Dallas got the 3-2 win in game one. The Stars really didn’t play that well in the game, but Rantanen saved the day with a hat trick in the second period. Winnipeg controlled the pace of the game and had plenty of chances, but their power play went 0-4, which was a huge reason for the loss. On the bright side for Winnipeg, we saw a very good game from Hellebuyck in net and he continues to play well at home in the playoffs. I think we are going to see an even better performance from Winnipeg in this matchup and I think they could run away with it like Colorado did against Dallas in games four and six. Take the Jets here.
