Here are my DraftKings player selections for the second round of the 2025 PGA Championship.

Draftkings PGA Championship Second Round Picks

Scottie Scheffler $12,800

Since the beginning of January, Scottie Scheffler has played nine tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those nine events just noted, Scheffler amassed a rather impressive eight top 20 finishes, including a win at the 2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson two weeks ago.

Scottie Scheffler certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Scheffler is currently ranked first in strokes gained approach (1.224), first in par four scoring average (3.88), first in overall strokes gained (2.394), seventh in GIR (greens in regulation-71.45%), second in strokes gained off the tee (0.716) and first in bogey avoidance (9.57%) on the PGA Tour.

Additionally, Scheffler has posted quality results at the PGA Championship multiple times. More recently, Scheffler finished second at the 2023 PGA Championship.

Stephan Jaeger $7,300

Stephan Jaeger has tallied four top 20 finishes in his last nine events played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive seventh-place result at the 2025 Truist Championship last week.

Due to Stepan Jaeger’s quality finish at the 2025 Truist Championship I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to determine how Jaeger fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 Truist Championship, in relation to the field, Stephan Jaeger ranked fifth in driving distance (321.2), 16th in overall putting average (1.731), 16th in total birdies made (18) and 11th in bogey avoidance (8).

In summary, I fully expect Stephen Jaeger to continue his outstanding play in tomorrow’s second round of the 2025 PGA Championship.

Ryan Fox $7,200

Ryan Fox has compiled three top 20 finishes in his last seven tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a win at last week’s 2025 Myrtle Beach Classic.

Upon the completion of this afternoon’s first round of the 2025 PGA Championship, Ryan Fox is tied for fourth place with a score of four under par.

Draftkings PGA Championship First Round Picks

Patrick Cantlay $9,000

Since the beginning of January, Patrick Cantlay has played ten tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those ten events just noted, Cantlay amassed six top 13 finishes, including a fifth-place result at the 2025 Genesis Invitational in February.

Patrick Cantlay certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Let me be more specific. Cantlay is currently ranked tenth in strokes gained approach (0.700), third in GIR (greens in regulation-72.36%), tenth in strokes gained tee to green (1.111), 20th in birdie or better percentage (23.4%), and 16trh in birdie average (4.35) on the PGA Tour.

Tommy Fleetwood $8,600

The talented Englishman arrives at this week’s event on the heels of two consecutive top seven finishes on the PGA Tour, including a fourth-place result at last week’s 2025 Truist Championship.

Fleetwood is currently ranked tenth in overall strokes gained (1.303), 13th in strokes gained tee to green (1.059), 13th in strokes gained approach (0.651), ninth in overall putting average (1.706), 13th in overall scoring average (70.26), 19th in birdie average (4.33) and 14th in par four scoring average (3.96) on the PGA Tour.

Tommy Fleetwood finished fifth at the 2023 PGA Championship.

Corey Conners $8,100

Conners has compiled five 11 finishes in his last seven tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a third-place result at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational in March. Additionally, Conners finished eighth at the 2023 PGA Championship.

Conners is currently ranked 17th in strokes gained off the tee (0.444), tenth in GIR (greens in regulation-70.89%), 14th in par four scoring average (3.96) and 17th in driving accuracy (66.77%) on the PGA Tour.

What did we learn from the data just presented? The data clearly illustrates that Corey Conners is playing exceptionally well entering this week’s 2025 PGA Championship. With that said, I am backing Conners as a flex play for this PGA Tour DFS slate.

Since the beginning of January, Rory McIlroy has played eight tournaments (PGA and DP World Tours combined). In those eight events just mentioned, McIlroy compiled seven top 15 finishes, including three wins (2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am: 2025 Players Championship: 2025 Masters Tournament).

McIlroy is currently ranked first in strokes gained off the tee (0.869), sixth in strokes gained putting (0.717), third in driving distance (318.2), sixth in scrambling (69.59%), fifth in birdie or better percentage (26.19%), tenth in par five scoring average (4.50) and third in bogey avoidance (11.9%) on the PGA Tour.

It is noteworthy that the PGA Tour has hosted a golf tournament (Wells Fargo Championship) at Quail Hollow on an annual basis over the years. How has Rory McIlroy performed when tasked with competing on this prestigious golf course? Since 2010, McIlroy has played the Wells Fargo Championship 12 times. In those 12 events just noted, McIlroy amassed a rather impressive 12 top 16 finishes, including four wins (2010, 2015, 2021, 2024).

What did we learn? Clearly, Rory McIlroy arrives at this week’s major championship playing outstanding golf. I fully expect that trend to continue at this week’s 2025 PGA Championship.

Justin Thomas $10,000

Justin Thomas arrives at this week’s tournament on the heels of two consecutive top two finishes on the PGA Tour, including a win at the 2025 RBC Heritage four weeks ago.

Justin Thomas certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Thomas is currently ranked fifth in strokes gained approach (0.896), 23rd in strokes gained putting (0.432), second in par four scoring average (3.91), third in total strokes gained (1.659), first in birdie or better percentage (27.78%) and sixth in total birdies made (212) on the PGA Tour.

It should be noted that Justin Thomas won the 2017 PGA Championship. Where was that event played? Quail Hollow Golf Club.

Collin Morikawa $10,400

Collin Morikawa has tallied seven top 17 finishes in his last nine tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a second-place result at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational in March.

Morikawa finished 16th at the 2024 PGA Championship.

Collin Morikawa arrives at this week’s event on the heels of three consecutive top 16 finishes on the PGA Tour, including an impressive third place result at the 2024 Masters Tournament five weeks ago.

Morikawa also checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. In relation to this week’s 2024 PGA Championship field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Collin Morikawa ranks 12th in GIR (greens in regulation), 13th in birdie or better percentage, sixth in bogey avoidance, and first in driving accuracy.

Collin Morikawa has posted a quality result at this week’s major championship event in the past. More specifically, Morikawa won the 2020 PGA Championship.

Upon the completion of this afternoon’s third round at the 2024 PGA Championship, Collin Morikawa is currently tied for first place with a score of 15 under par.

Justin Thomas $8,800

The talented American has accumulated two consecutive top 21 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a fifth-place result at the 2024 RBC Heritage four weeks ago.

Due to Justin Thomas’s quality finish at the 2024 RBC Heritage I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to see how Thomas fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2024 RBC Heritage, in relation to the field, Justin Thomas ranked ninth in strokes gained tee to green (4.7), 15th in strokes gained putting (2.7), ninth in birdie or better percentage (2.9), and second in bogey avoidance (1).

Similar to Morikawa, Justin Thomas has won this week’s PGA Tour event previously. Justin Thomas won the 2022 PGA Championship.

Shane Lowry $7,600

The 2019 Open Championship has accumulated five top 29 finishes in his last eight tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a third-place result at last week’s 2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational in March.

In relation to this week’s 2024 PGA Championship field, in the last 50 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Shane Lowry ranks seventh in strokes gained approach, 16th in driving accuracy, and ninth in strokes gained tee to green.

In summary, I think Shane Lowry is the best fantasy value of any golfer on this DFS slate with a Draftkings price of only $7,600.
