This Thursday morning, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the first round of the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge. Let’s take a look at the first round of this tournament from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s review where the first round of the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge will be played.

The 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge will be played at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. The golf course is a par 70 that measures 7,289 yards.

*Davis Riley won the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge with a four round cumulative score of 14 under par.

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest! Keep that in mind as you construct your lineups for this DFS slate.

For those readers that are not aware, the rules and scoring for DraftKings single round showdown contests are vastly different than the traditional classic contests offered by the platform.

If you need to review the specific rules for the single round showdown contests feel free to check out the DraftKings website.

Here are my DraftKings picks for the first round of the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge.

Draftkings First Round Picks

Aaron Rai $9,200

Since the beginning of February, Aaron Rai has played nine tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those nine events just noted, Rai amassed six top 27 finishes, including an 11th place result at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational in March.

Ben Griffin $8,600

Last week, Ben Griffin fired a final round 69 at the 2025 PGA Championship en route to an eventual eighth place finish. With that said, I fully expect Griffin to continue his outstanding play at this week’s 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge.

J.J. Spaun $8,500

J.J. Spaun has compiled three top 17 finishes in his last eight events played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive second place result at the 2025 Players Championship in March.

In those three tournaments just mentioned, Scheffler amassed three top three finishes, including a second-place result at the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge.

Here are my DraftKings player selections for the final round of the 2025 Masters Tournament.

Draftkings Final Round Picks

Rory McIlroy $11,600

Since the beginning of January, Rory McIlroy has played six tournaments (PGA and DP World Tours combined). In those six events just mentioned, McIlroy amassed a rather impressive five top 15 finishes, including two wins (2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am: 2025 Players Championship).

Additionally, Rory McIlroy has posted numerous quality finishes at Augusta National over the course of his career. More recently, McIlroy finished second at the 2022 Masters Tournament.

Upon the completion of this afternoon’s third round of the 2025 Masters Tournament, Rory McIlroy is currently in solo first place with a three round cumulative score of 12 under par.

Collin Morikawa $10,100

The 2020 PGA Championship winner arrives at this week’s tournament on the heels of five consecutive top 17 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a second-place result at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational last month.

Collin Morikawa certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Morikawa is currently ranked 12th in strokes gained off the tee (0.540), first in strokes gained approach (1.190), fourth in driving accuracy (71.48%), ninth in GIR (greens in regulation-71.4%), first in proximity to the hole (33’1) and fifth in overall putting average (1.681%) on the PGA Tour.

Corey Conners $8,900

Conners is currently ranked 19th in strokes gained off the tee (0.509), 23rd in GIR (greens in regulation-69.61%), 25th in par four scoring average (3.97) and 20th in driving accuracy (63.9%) on the PGA Tour.

It should also be noted that Corey Conners has posted a quality finish at the Augusta National Golf Club in the past. Conners finished sixth at the 2022 Masters Tournament.

Similar to Corey Conners and Rory McIlroy, Patrick Reed has had prior success at August National. Reed won the 2018 Masters Tournament.

This Thursday morning, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the first round of the 2025 Masters Tournament. Let’s take a look at the first round of this tournament from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s review where the first round of the 2025 Masters Tournament will be played.

The 2025 Masters Tournament will be played at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. The golf course is a par 72 that measures approximately 7,555 yards.

*Scottie Scheffler won the 2024 Masters Tournament with a four round cumulative score of 11 under par.

Here are my DraftKings player selections for the first round of the 2025 Masters Tournament.

Jordan Spieth $8,700

Jordan Spieth has compiled three top 12 finishes in his last six tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive fourth-place result at the 2025 Waste Management Phoenix Open in February.

Spieth certainly checks the box for me when it comes to previous event/course history. Since 2014, Jordan Spieth has played this week’s major championship 11 times. In those 11 tournaments just mentioned, Spieth amassed seven top 11 finishes, including a win at the 2015 Masters Tournament.

In summary, I fully expect Jordan Spieth to continue his quality play in Thursday’s first round of the 2025 Masters Tournament.

Corey Conners $8,100

The talented Canadian arrives at this week’s event on the heels of four consecutive top 18 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a third-place result at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational last month.

Min Woo Lee $7,900

Min Woo Lee has tallied thee top 20 finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a win at the 2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open two weeks ago.

Sepp Straka $7,800

Last month, Sepp Straka fired a second round 66 at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational en route to an eventual fifth place finish.

Jason Day $7,600

The 2015 PGA Championship winner has compiled three top 27 finishes in his six events played on the PGA Tour, including a third-place result at the 2025 American Express in January.

Similar to Jordan Spieth and Corey Conners, Jason Day has posted good results at the Masters in the past. An illustration of Day’s ability to perform at a high level at Augusta National can clearly be seen his fifth-place finish at the 2019 Masters Tournament.

Additional golfers I like to perform well in the first round of the 2025 Masters Tournament (Draftkings price noted): Collin Morikawa $10,600: Tommy Fleetwood $9,200: Patrick Reed $7,500: Robert Macintyre $7,800: Charl Schwartzel $6,300.

This week, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with one of the most prestigious events in all of golf, the 2025 Masters Tournament. Let’s take a look at this tournament from a DFS perspective.

Before I dive into my Draftkings player selections for the first major championship of the season, let’s take a quick look at the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a player’s success at this week’s 2025 Masters Tournament.

Where will the 2025 Masters Tournament be played?

The 2025 Masters Tournament will be played at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. The golf course is a par 72 that measures approximately 7,555 yards.

Will the Masters Tournament have a traditional cut?

The 2025 Masters Tournament will have a field of 96 golfers to begin the event on Thursday. Upon the completion of two rounds of competitive play the top 50 players and ties will make the cut and move onto the third round. The remaining players will miss the cut.

Masters Tournament Key Player Statistics

  • Strokes Gained: Approach
  • Stokes Gained: Off the Tee
  • Strokes Gained: Around the Green
  • Bogey Avoidance
  • GIR (greens in regulation)
  • Driving Distance
  • Birdies or Better Percentage

2025 Masters Tournament Draftkings Picks

Rory McIlroy $11,100

Since the beginning of January, Rory McIlroy has played six tournaments (PGA and DP World Tours combined). In those six events just mentioned, McIlroy amassed a rather impressive five top 15 finishes, including two wins (2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am: 2025 Players Championship).

Rory McIlroy certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Let me be more specific. McIlroy is currently ranked first in strokes gained off the tee (0.857), 19th in strokes gained approach (0.592), tenth in strokes gained putting (0.593), sixth in driving distance (315.2), fourth in scrambling (69.23%), 11th in birdie or better percentage (25.83%) and tenth in bogey avoidance (12.22%) on the PGA Tour.

Additionally, Rory McIlroy has posted numerous quality finishes at Augusta National over the course of his career. More recently, McIlroy finished second at the 2022 Masters Tournament.

Collin Morikawa $10,500

The 2020 PGA Championship winner arrives at this week’s tournament on the heels of five consecutive top 17 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a second-place result at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational last month.

Due to Collin Morikawa’s quality finish at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to determine how Morikawa fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational, in relation to the field, Collin Morikawa ranked fourth in strokes gained off the tee, fifth in strokes gained approach and fifth in strokes gained around the green.

It is noteworthy that Morikawa has posted a good result at this week’s major championship in the past. More specifically, Morikawa finished third at the 2024 Masters Tournament.

Patrick Reed $7,300

Patrick Reed has compiled six top 25 finishes in his last nine events played (LIV Golf and DP World Tours combined), including a seventh-place result at last week’s 2025 LIV Golf Miami event.

Yes, I know that Patrick Reed no longer plays on the PGA Tour. I also know that Reed has previously shown that he can play great golf at Augusta National Golf Club. The man has a green jacket after all. Let us not forget that Patrick Reed won the 2018 Masters Tournament.

Additional golfers I like play well at the 2025 Masters Tournament: Scottie Scheffler $12,400: Xander Schauffele $9,700: Min Woo Lee $8,500: Wyndham Clark $7,700: Sepp Straka $7,600: Keegan Bradley $7,000: Charl Schwartzel $6,200.

Valero Texas Open First Round Picks

Daniel Berger $9,000

Since the beginning of November, Daniel Berger has played nine events on the PGA Tour. In those nine events just noted, Berger tallied seven top 25 finishes, including a second-place result at the 2025 Waste Management Phoenix Open seven weeks ago.

Daniel Berger certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Let me be more specific. Berger is currently ranked 12th in overall strokes gained (1.334), 15th in strokes gained tee to green (1.003), 22nd in proximity to the hole (35’4), tenth in driving accuracy (67.35%) and fourth in par four scoring average (3.93) on the PGA Tour.

Additional golfers I like to perform well in the first round of the 2025 Valero Texas Open (Draftkings price noted): Tommy Fleetwood $10,500: Ludvig Aberg $10,600: Corey Conners $10,000: Bud Cauley $8,800: Jake Knapp $8,200: Ben Griffin $8,100.

This Thursday morning, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the first round of the 2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open. Let’s take a look at the first round of this tournament from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s review where the first round of the 2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open will be played.

The 2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open will be played at the Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston, Texas. This golf course is a par 70 that measures approximately 7,475 yards.

*This will be the sixth consecutive year that the Texas Children’s Houston Open has been played at the Memorial Park Golf Course.

Stephan Jaeger won the 2024 Texas Children’s Houston Open with a four round cumulative score of 12 under par.

If you need to review the specific rules for the single round showdown contests feel free to check out the DraftKings website.

Here are my DraftKings player selections for the first round of the 2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open.

Texas Children’s Houston Open First Round Picks

Michael Kim $8,600

Since the beginning of February, Micheal Kim has played seven events on the PGA Tour. In those seven tournaments just mentioned, Kim tallied six top 28 finishes, including an impressive second-place result at the 2025 Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Due to Michael Kim’s quality result at the 2025 Waste Management Phoenix Open I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to determine how Kim fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 Waste Management Phoenix Open, in relation to the field, Michael Kim ranked 17th in putting average (1.732), 20th in driving accuracy (58.9%), fourth in GIR (greens in regulation-77.8%) and first in bogey avoidance (1).

Jacob Bridgeman $8,500

Jacob Bridgeman has amassed three top 15 finishes in his last four events played on the PGA Tour, including a third-place result at last week’s 2025 Valspar Championship.

Jake Knapp $7,900

The talented American has compiled four top 25 finishes in his last five tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive 12th place result at the 2025 Players Championship two weeks ago.

Jake Knapp certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Let me be more specific. Knapp is currently ranked 13th in first round scoring average (68.8), 11th in strokes gained putting (0.602) and 19th in par four birdie or better percentage (20.74%) on the PGA Tour.

It is noteworthy that Jake fired a first round 59 at the 2025 Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches four weeks ago. It was only the 14th time in the history of the PGA Tour that a score of 59 or less has been posted by a golfer in a single round.

In my view, Jake Knapp’s low Draftkings price of only $7,900 presents the best fantasy value on this PGA Tour Draftkings first round showdown slate.

Additional golfers I like to perform well in the first round of the 2025 Valspar Championship (Draftkings price noted): Rory McIlroy $11,900: Aaron Rai $10,000: Davis Thompson $9,400: Tony Finau $9,300: Steven Fisk $7,200: Mackenzie Hughes $7,500.

Aaron Rai $9,800

The talented Englishman arrives at this week’s event on the heels of three consecutive top 14 finishes on the PGA Tour, including an 11th place result at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational earlier this month.

Aaron Rai certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Let me be more specific. Rai is currently ranked sixth in driving accuracy (70.05%), 21st in GIR (greens in regulation-70.51%), third in par four scoring average (3.92), 14th in birdie or better percentage (25.85%) and 23rd in strokes gained off the tee (0.446).

Rai has played outstanding at Memorial Park previously. Since 2021, Aaron Rai has played the Texas Children’s Houston Open three times. In those three tournaments just noted, Rai has accumulated three top 19 finishes, including a seventh-place result at the 2024 Texas Children’s Houston Open.

Stephan Jaeger $8,800

Stephan Jaeger has amassed two top 20 finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive sixth-place result at the 2025 Mexico Open at Vidanta last month.

Due to Stepan Jaeger’s quality finish at the 2025 Mexico Open at Vidanta I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to determine how Jaeger fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 Mexico Open at Vidanta, in relation to the field, Stephan Jaeger ranked 11th in driving distance (319.9), third in overall putting average (1.551), third in total birdies made (25) and 16th in bogey avoidance (7).

Riley has played well at this week’s PGA Tour event in the past. Davis Riley finished 14th at the 2024 Texas Children’s Houston Open.

In my view, Davis Riley’s low Draftkings price of only $7,600 presents the best fantasy value of any golfer on this week’s Draftkings PGA Tour slate.

Additional golfers I like to perform well at this week’s PGA Tour event (Draftkings price noted): Scottie Scheffler $12,700: Rory McIlroy $11,700: Michael Kim $8,700: Joe Highsmith $7,800: Matthias Schmid $7,000: Jeremy Paul $7,000.
