Blue Jays vs Padres Prediction

I’m not excited to lay juice with the Padres, as they’ve lost five straight games and have scored a combined three runs in those games. The Padres have been shut out in back-to-back games. The Padres have failed to score a run in 26 straight innings. With that said, the Padres are too talented to stay down for long. Francis also hasn’t been good this season, and that includes allowing 20 hits and 11 runs in his last 15.2 innings. In 24 home innings, Francis has a 6.75 ERA and a .299 allowed batting average. If the Padres can’t break out of their slump here, something is seriously wrong. The price is fair. Give me the Padres.

Blue Jays vs Padres Prediction

The Blue Jays are getting love at home with Gausman on the mound, but he’s allowed 17 hits and nine runs in his last 11 innings. Gausman has allowed 19 runs in his last 19.2 innings. Vasquez has been more reliable this season, and that includes giving up 16 hits and four runs in his last 17 innings. The Padres are 3-0 with Vasquez on the mound this month. Also, it’s only a matter of time before the Padres wake up offensively, as this lineup is too talented to score just three runs in their last four games. The market is starting to shift on the Padres. I’ll take a shot with them in a bounce-back spot.

Blue Jays vs Padres Prediction

I’m on the Padres in this one. I get the case to be made for the Blue Jays at home, but they didn’t look great against Detroit’s right-handers at home this past weekend. Dylan Cease has gotten back into the form of the Dylan Cease that we’ve come to expect in years past, who contended for Cy Young awards perennially. To me, this feels like a Padres spot, so give me San Diego behind another strong start from Cease.

Bryan Woo (R) will take the mound for the Mariners, and he has a 4-1 record, 2.84 ERA, and 0.89 WHIP. He has been weaker on the road with a 4.02 ERA across five road starts, but he has two shutouts in his last three starts, with the most recent one being against the Yankees. In his only start against the Padres last season, he gave up two runs in 6.2 innings of work, as the Mariners won 6-2.

Why the San Diego Padres will win

  • The Padres have won each of their last eight Sunday home games against AL West opponents.
  • The Mariners have lost four of their last five games against NL West opponents following a win.
  • The Padres have covered the run line in each of their last eight Sunday home games against AL West opponents.
  • The Mariners have failed to cover the run line in five of their last six games following a road win.
  • The Padres have led after 3 innings in five of their last six home day games.
  • The Padres have led after 5 innings in five of their last six home day games.

Why the Seattle Mariners will win

  • The Mariners have won eight of their last nine games as underdogs against the Padres.
  • The Padres have lost five of their last six games as favorites against American League opponents following a loss.
  • The Mariners have covered the run line each of their last six games at Petco Park against teams that held a winning record.
  • The Padres have failed to cover the run line in eight of their last 10 games as favorites against American League opponents.
  • The Mariners have led after 3 innings in four of their last five games against National League opponents.
  • The Mariners have led after 5 innings in five of their last six games at Petco Park against National League opponents that held a winning record.

  • The Mariners rank 29th in the league for doubles this season (56).
  • The Mariners rank 27th in the league for triples this season (2).

Mariners vs Padres Prediction

The Mariners are 9-2 in their last 11 meetings against the Padres, and have won their last four visits in San Diego in a dominant fashion, with a combined 19-5 score. They are up 2-0 in this series, having outscored the Padres by 9-2 runs. Under is 7-3-2 in their last 12 meetings.

In this Mariners vs Padres Prediction, the Padres are coming as -140 home favorites. The Padres are favored because they still have a better record this season, and they have the second-best home record in the National League. But the Mariners have been dominating them in this series, and are putting their best pitcher on the mound. Both teams score exactly 5.1 runs against righties, so this line feels a bit inflated towards the Padres.

With both pitchers being terrific this season, I will not pick a side and instead look for another low-scoring game. Both pitchers have a combined 5.16 ERA and have a WHIP below 1.00, and their deeper analytics do not show a negative regression coming. Both teams are a perfect 7-0 to the under in their last 7 games combined, and the two games of this series had a 5.5 average total runs. Take the under 7.5 in this one.

In this article, we will formulate a Padres vs Mariners prediction for this MLB game on Saturday, May 17, at PETCO Park in San Diego, California. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

Seattle Mariners Betting Preview

The Seattle Mariners (24-19, 11-8 Away) defeated the Athletics and then were swept by the Blue Jays and lost the series to the Yankees at home. After losing five of six games, the Mariners responded with a 5-1 win in Game 1 of the current series against the Padres. Cal Raleigh and Rowdy Tellez led the offense with two RBI apiece, while Logan Evans got the win after allowing no runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and one walk across 6.0 innings of work.

This season, the Mariners average 4.79 runs per game (9th in the MLB) on a .240/.328/.403 triple-slash. When it comes to pitching, the Mariners’ staff has a 3.84 ERA (13th) and 1.33 WHIP (21st). Cal Raleigh leads the Mariners with a .250 batting average, 14 home runs, and 30 RBI this season.

Emerson Hancock will take the mound for the Mariners on Saturday. The 25-year-old right-hander has a 1-2 record in six starts this year with a 6.91 ERA and 1.71 WHIP in 28.2 innings.

San Diego Padres Betting Preview

The San Diego Padres (27-16, 16-6 Home) beat the Rockies and Angels in response to a series loss to the New York Yankees. Surprisingly, the Friars lost the opening game of the series against the Seattle Mariners. In Friday’s 5-1 defeat, Stephen Kolek took the loss after allowing five runs on eight hits with four strikeouts and one walk in 5.0 innings.

This year, the Padres average 4.58 runs per game (13th in the MLB) on a .263/.331/.399 triple-slash. When it comes to pitching, the Padres’ staff has a 3.34 ERA (6th) and 1.17 WHIP (6th). Fernando Tatis Jr. leads the Padres with a .307 batting average, 11 home runs, and 26 RBI this season.

The projected starting pitcher for the Padres is Nick Pivetta, who is 5-2 in eight starts this season, with a 3.05 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 44.1 innings.

Why the Padres will cover

  • The Mariners have lost each of their last four games against NL West opponents following a win.
  • The Padres have won each of their last three games against AL West opponents following a home loss.
  • The Mariners have failed to cover the run line in each of their last five night games following a road win.
  • The Padres have covered the run line in six of their last seven games at Petco Park against teams that held a winning record.
  • The Mariners have trailed after 5 innings in four of their last five road games against NL West opponents.

Total Runs Facts

  • Four of the Mariners’ last five games against National League opponents have gone OVER the total runs line.
  • Seven of the Padres’ last nine home games against American League opponents have gone UNDER the total runs line.
  • The ‘Inning 1 OVER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in 15 of the Mariners’ last 17 road games.
  • The ‘Inning 1 OVER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in six of the Padres’ last seven games.

Matchup/League Facts

  • The Padres rank 3rd in the league for batting average this season (.263).
  • The Padres rank 3rd in the league for opponent batting average this season (.218).
  • The Mariners rank 27th in the league for triples this season (2).
  • The Mariners are one of only four teams in the league to rank top 10 in both steals and home runs this season.

Padres vs Mariners Prediction

The Mariners won eight of the previous ten H2H encounters, including six of the last seven. However, I am going with the Padres in this one because of the starting matchup. Both Nick Pivetta and Emerson Hancock struggled in their respective latest starts, but it’s clear who’s the better pitcher here, and I believe Pivetta will bounce back with a commanding display on Saturday. He already has three shutouts this season, while Hancock surrendered 12 runs in his last three starts. Back San Diego to win and cover the run line.

Stephen Kolek (R) will take the mound for the Padres, and he has a 2-0 record, 0.00 ERA, and 0.91 WHIP. He has yet to give a run this season, as he has two shutout performances in 14.1 innings pitched across two starts. This will be his first career start against the Mariners.

Seattle Mariners Preview

The Seattle Mariners have a 23-19 record this season and are sitting in first place in the AL West. The Mariners have a 10-8 road record and 25-15 in over/under. They are coming off a 2-3 home defeat by the Yankees, and are 1-5 in their last 6 games. Over is 7-3 in their last 10 games, and they are playing the Astros and the White Sox next.

The Mariners have a .239 batting average this season, a .327 OBP, and a .399 Slugging percentage. Seattle’s pitching staff has a 4.02 ERA and 1.34 WHIP. Julio Rodriguez leads the Mariners with 39 hits, while JP Crawford is the team’s best hitter with a .271 batting average. Jorge Polanco leads the team in RBI with 29, while Cal Raleigh adds a team-high 13 home runs.

Logan Evans (R) will take the mound for the Mariners, and he has a 1-1 record, 3.60 ERA, and 1.60 WHIP. His only road start was his best of the season, as he had a quality performance with one earned run in 5 innings of work against the Texas Rangers.

Why the San Diego Padres will win

  • The Padres have won each of their last 11 games as home favorites following a win.
  • The Mariners have lost each of their last six road games against NL West opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Padres have covered the run line in each of their last 12 home games following a win.
  • The Mariners have failed to cover the run line in six of their last seven night games against NL West opponents.
  • The Padres have led after 3 innings in five of their last six home games against opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Padres have led after 5 innings in each of their last six night games.

Why the Seattle Mariners will win

  • The Mariners have won each of their last six games against National League opponents following a home loss.
  • The Padres have lost each of their last three games as favorites against the Mariners following a win.
  • The Mariners have covered the run line in each of their last six night games against National League opponents following a home loss.
  • The Padres have failed to cover the run line in each of their last four games against the Mariners following a win.
  • The Mariners have won the first inning in three of their last four road games against National League opponents.
  • The Mariners have led after 3 innings in four of their last five games against National League opponents.

  • The Mariners rank T3rd in the league for walks this season (168).
  • The Mariners are one of only three teams in the league to rank top 10 in both steals and home runs this season.

Mariners vs Padres Prediction

In their four meetings last season, the Mariners led the Padres 3-1 wins, winning both games in San Diego with a combined 10-3 score. The Mariners are 7-2 in their last 9 overall meetings against the Padres, and under is 5-3-2 in their last 10 meetings.

In this Mariners vs Padres Prediction, the Padres are coming as -150 home favorites. The Padres are rightfully favored, as they have a better record this season, and they have the second-best home record in the National League. On the other hand, the Mariners are mediocre on the road and are coming into this matchup in poor form. Stephen Kolek has been unhittable in his two starts this season, and with San Diego’s 7th-best bullpen to back him up, I expect the Padres to get the job done at home. Take the San Diego Padres on the moneyline in this one.

In this article, we will formulate a Padres vs Angels prediction for this MLB game on Wednesday, May 14, at PETCO Park in San Diego, California. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

Los Angeles Angels Betting Preview

The Los Angeles Angels (17-24, 8-14 Away) were on a negative run of seven series losses before defeating the Toronto Blue Jays. Still, the Angels returned to losing ways against the Baltimore Orioles but opened the current series in San Diego with a surprising 9-5 win. The hosts did respond with a 6-4 win in Game 2, though. Mathew Lugo led the Angels with two RBI, while Jose Soriano pitched for 7.0 innings in a no-decision, allowing two runs on four hits with five strikeouts and three walks. Kenley Jansen took the loss.

This season, the Angels average 3.83 runs per game (24th in the MLB) on a .216/.276/.389 triple-slash. When it comes to pitching, the Angels’ staff has a 5.13 ERA (26th) and 1.49 WHIP (28th). Taylor Ward leads the Angels with a .185 batting average, nine home runs, and 21 RBI this season.

Kyle Hendricks will take the mound for the Angels on Wednesday. The 35-year-old right-hander has a 1-4 record in seven starts this year with a 5.30 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 35.2 innings.

San Diego Padres Betting Preview

The San Diego Padres (26-15, 15-5 Home) won three of the last four series and spent the previous three series on teh road. Following a win over the Colorado Rockies, the Padres opened the current series against the Angels with a 9-5 defeat, but responded with a 6-4 victory on Tuesday. San Diego was 4-2 down until the 8th inning. Fernando Tatis Jr. led the offense with two RBI, while Dylan Cease pitched for 6.2 innings in a no-decision, allowing two runs on five hits with ten strikeouts and one walk. Jason Adam was credited with the win.

This year, the Padres average 4.66 runs per game (12th in the MLB) on a .265/.333/.401 triple-slash. When it comes to pitching, the Padres’ staff has a 3.38 ERA (6th) and 1.18 WHIP (6th). Fernando Tatis Jr. leads the Rockies with a .316 batting average, 11 home runs, and 26 RBI this season.

The projected starting pitcher for the Padres is Randy Vasquez, who is 2-3 in eight starts this season, with a 3.76 ERA and 1.59 WHIP in 38.1 innings.

Why the Padres will beat the Angels

  • The Padres have won each of their last 10 games as favorites following a home win.
  • The Angels have lost each of their last eight Wednesday road games.
  • The Padres have covered the run line in each of their last 11 games at Petco Park following a win.
  • The Angels have failed to cover the run line in 10 of their last 11 road games.
  • The Padres have led after 3 innings in three of their last four games at Petco Park.
  • The Padres have led after 5 innings in each of their last five night games.

Total Runs Facts

  • Each of the Padres’ last five games have gone OVER the total runs line.
  • Each of the Angels’ last four road games have gone OVER the total runs line.
  • The ‘Inning 1 UNDER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in seven of the Padres’ last eight night games against American League opponents.
  • The ‘Inning 1 OVER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in five of the Angels’ last six games as underdogs.

Matchup/League Facts

  • The Padres rank 3rd in the league for opponent batting average this season (.219).
  • The Padres rank 3rd in the league for hits allowed this season (292).
  • The Angels rank 29th in the league for batting average this season (.216).
  • The Angels rank T29th in the league for strikeouts against this season (404).

Padres vs Angels Prediction

The teams have traded wins in the past couple of years, each recording five in the previous ten H2H encounters. The Angels win four of the last five, but I am going with the Padres in this one as I am giving a slight advantage to Vasquez over Hendricks. Vasquez allowed three runs in his last two starts and surrendered more than two runs only twice this year. Hendricks, on the other hand, allowed 3+ runs in four of his previous four starts. The Padres should do enough to score 3+ off him early on and later add some more runs against one of the worst bullpens in the MLB.

San Diego Padres Preview

The San Diego Padres have a 25-15 record this season and are sitting in second place in the NL West. They have a 14-5 home record and are 18-21 in over/under. The Padres are coming off a 5-9 home defeat by the Angels and have back-to-back losses. Their last four game have gone over the total, and they are playing the Mariners and the Blue Jays next.

San Diego’s pitching staff has a 3.37 ERA and 1.18 WHIP.  Manny Machado leads the Padres with 49 hits and a team-high .331 batting average. Fernando Tatis Jr leads the team both in RBI, with 24, and in home runs, with 10.

Dylan Cease (R) will take the mound for the Padres, and he has a 1-2 record, 4.91 ERA, and 1.41 WHIP. He has been better at home, with a 3.48 ERA across four home starts. He was hit up by the Angels last season, having given up 6 runs in 12 innings of work across two starts, as the Padres lost both games.

Los Angeles Angels Preview

The Los Angeles Angels have a 17-23 record this season and are sitting in last place in the AL West. The Angels have an 8-13 road record and 23-17 in over/under. They are coming off a 9-5 road victory over the Padres, ending their previous nine-game road losing streak. Over is 8-3 in their last 11 games, and they are playing the Dodgers and the Athletics next.

The Angels have a .216 batting average this season, a .276 OBP, and a .387 Slugging percentage. LA’s pitching staff has a 5.14 ERA and 1.49 WHIP. Nolan Schanuel leads the Angels with 33 hits, while Taylor Ward leads the team with 21 RBI. Logan O’Hoppe is the team’s best hitter with a .264 batting average.

Jose Soriano (R) will take the mound for the Angels, and he has a 2-4 record, 4.00 ERA, and 1.53 WHIP. He has been better on the road, with a 2.49 ERA across four road starts. He has been struggling lately, having given up 3+ runs in four of his last five starts.

Why the San Diego Padres will win

  • The Angels have lost nine of their last 10 road games.
  • The home team has won seven of the last eight games between the Angels and Padres.
  • The Angels have failed to cover the run line in nine of their last 10 road games.
  • The Padres have covered the run line in eight of their last 10 games as favorites against AL West opponents following a home loss.
  • The Angels have trailed after 5 innings in each of their last eight road games against NL West opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Angels have trailed after 3 innings in each of their last eight road games.

Why the Los Angeles Angels will win

  • The Padres have lost each of their last five games as favorites against American League opponents.
  • The Angels have won each of their last four games as underdogs against the Padres.
  • The Padres have failed to cover the run line each of their last seven night games against American League opponents that held a losing record.

  • The Angels rank 30th in the league for on-base percentage this season (.276).
  • The Angels rank 30th in the league for walks this season (98).

Angels vs Padres Prediction

The Angels are 4-0 in their last four meetings against the Padres, and under is 4-1 in their last 5 meetings. In this Angels vs Padres Prediction, the Padres are coming as -200 home favorites. The Padres are rightfully favored, as they have been the better team this season and have been one of the best home teams in the MLB, while the Angels are terrible on the road.

But I am not willing to lay -200 with the Padres with Cease on the mound, who has been struggling this season, and was shelled by the Angels last season. Both pitchers have a combined 8.91 ERA, and the Angels have the second-worst bullpen in the MLB. Both teams are also better in hitting righties, averaging 5.2 and 4.1 runs against righties, and are 12-3 to the over in their last 15 games combined. With the total set at just 7.5 runs, I will gladly go over the total.

In this article, we will formulate a Padres vs Angels prediction for this MLB game on Monday, May 12, at PETCO Park in San Diego, California. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

Los Angeles Angels Betting Preview

The Los Angeles Angels (16-23, 7-13 Away) lost seven straight series but managed to avoid the eighth with a win over the Toronto Blue Jays at home. However, the Halos returned to losing ways against the Baltimore Orioles. In the latest 7-3 defeat, Tyler Anderson took the loss after allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits with five strikeouts and two walks in 5.0 innings.

This season, the Angels average 3.69 runs per game (25th in the MLB) on a .216/.274/.385 triple-slash. When it comes to pitching, the Angels’ staff has a 5.20 ERA (26th) and 1.50 WHIP (28th). Logan O’Hoppe leads the Angels with a .264 batting average, nine home runs, and 18 RBI this season.

Yusei Kikuchi will take the mound for the Angels on Monday. The 33-year-old left-hander has a 0-4 record in eight starts this year with a 3.83 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 42.1 innings.

San Diego Padres Betting Preview

The San Diego Padres (25-14, 14-4 Home) won three of their last four series, as they swept the Giants and Pirates, lost to the Yankees, and beat the Rockies on the road. San Diego was aiming for another sweep of the Rox following 13-9 and 21-0 wins, but fell to a 9-3 loss in Game 3. In that one, Manny Machado led the team with two RBI, while Nick Pivetta took the loss after allowing six runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and two walks in 4.0 innings.

This year, the Padres average 4.62 runs per game (13th in the MLB) on a .266/.332/.403 triple-slash. When it comes to pitching, the Padres’ staff has a 3.25 ERA (4th) and 1.17 WHIP (6th). Fernando Tatis Jr. leads the Rockies with a .320 batting average, nine home runs, and 23 RBI this season.

The projected starting pitcher for the Padres is Michael King, who is 4-1 in eight starts this season, with a 2.22 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in 44.2 innings.

Why the Padres will cover

  • The Angels have lost each of their last seven road games after playing the previous day.
  • The Padres have won each of their last nine Monday home games.
  • The Angels have failed to cover the run line in each of their last seven road games after playing the previous day.
  • The Padres have covered the run line in eight of their last nine games as home favorites after playing the previous day.
  • The Padres have led after 3 innings in seven of their last eight Monday games as favorites.
  • The Padres have led after 5 innings in each of their last three night games.

Total Runs Facts

  • Each of the Padres’ last five home games against American League opponents have gone UNDER the total runs line.
  • Eight of the Angels’ last 10 road games against NL West opponents have gone OVER the total runs line.
  • The ‘Inning 1 UNDER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in each of the Padres’ last six night games against American League opponents.
  • The ‘Inning 1 OVER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in each of the Angels’ last four games as underdogs.

Matchup/League Facts

  • The Padres rank T1st in the league for runs allowed this season (132).
  • The Padres rank 3rd in the league for opponent batting average this season (.219).
  • The Angels rank 30th in the league for walks this season (91).
  • The Angels rank 29th in the league for doubles this season (48).

Padres vs Angels Prediction

The teams have traded victories in the last couple of years, each recording five in the previous ten H2H encounters. I am backing the Padres to win and cover the run line here because they are in much better form than the Angels. Also, I trust King more than Kikuchi. King allowed a 0.67 BA in 30 at-bats against the Angels, while Kikuchi allowed a .298 BA in 57 at-bats against the Padres. Additionally, King surrendered just five runs in his last five starts, and I am sure he will keep the Halos to below three runs here.

San Diego comes into this matchup looking for the series sweep, and they have scored 34 runs in the first two games of the series. The Padres are 11-9 on the road this year, while the Rockies are 4-16 at home. San Diego is starting Pivetta, who has allowed two earned runs or fewer in four of his last five starts. Colorado is starting Marquez, who has allowed 5+ earned runs in five straight starts. These two teams are on opposite ends of the NL West standings, and I expect another easy San Diego win. Take the Padres -2.5 here.

In this article, we will formulate a Rockies vs Padres prediction for this MLB game on Saturday, May 10, at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

San Diego Padres Betting Preview

The San Diego Padres (24-13, 10-9 Away) were in a good form of six consecutive wins, sweeping the Giants and Pirates in the process, but then lost the series to the Yankees in New York. San Diego returned to winning ways in Game 1 of the current series against the Rockies with a 13-9 victory last night. Gavin Sheets led the offense with four RBI, while Randy Vasquez got the win after allowing two runs on six hits with five strikeouts and one walk over 6.0 innings of work.

This year, the Padres average 4.22 runs per game (18th in the MLB) on a .260/.328/.389 triple-slash. When it comes to pitching, the Padres’ staff has a 3.17 ERA (4th) and 1.16 WHIP (6th). Fernando Tatis Jr. leads the Padres with a .317 batting average, eight home runs, and 19 RBI this season.

The projected starting pitcher for the Padres is Stephen Kolek, who is 1-0 in one start this season, with a 0.00 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 5.1 innings.

Colorado Rockies Betting Preview

The Colorado Rockies (6-32, 4-15 Home)lost the series to the Giants and were swept by the Tigers, and are now on a seven-game losing skid. Although they scored seven runs in the final two innings against the Padres last night, the Rox couldn’t prevent the visitors from getting a 13-9 win. Antonio Senzatela took the loss after allowing eight runs (four earned) on nine hits with two strikeouts and two walks in 4.2 innings.

This season, the Rockies average 3.26 runs per game (28th in the MLB) on a .217/.284/.355 triple-slash. When it comes to pitching, the Rockies’ staff has a 5.56 ERA (29th) and 1.58 WHIP (30th). Hunter Goodman leads the Rockies with a .277 batting average, five home runs, and 19 RBI this season.

Bradley Blalock will take the mound for the Rockies on Saturday. The 24-year-old right-hander has a 0-1 record in two starts this year with an 8.03 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 12.1 innings.

Why the Padres will cover

  • The Padres have won each of their last 10 games as favorites against National League opponents.
  • The Rockies have lost 14 of their last 15 games against NL West opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Padres have covered the run line each of their last nine games against National League opponents that held a losing record.
  • The Rockies have failed to cover the run line in each of their last seven games.
  • The Padres have led after 3 innings in each of their last five games against NL West opponents.
  • The Padres have led after 5 innings in eight of their last nine games as favorites against National League opponents.
  • The Rockies have lost the first inning in three of their last four night games against National League opponents that held a winning record.

Total Runs Facts

  • Each of the Rockies’ last six games as underdogs have gone OVER the total runs line.
  • Twelve of the Padres’ last 15 games after playing the previous day have gone UNDER the total runs line.
  • The ‘Inning 1 OVER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in four of the Rockies’ last five games as home underdogs against NL West opponents.
  • The ‘Inning 1 OVER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in four of the Padres’ last five night games at Coors Field.

Matchup/League Facts

  • The Rockies rank 30th in the league for strikeouts this season (256).
  • The Rockies rank 30th in the league for opponent batting average this season (.295).
  • The Padres rank 3rd in the league for hits allowed this season (260).
  • The Padres rank 4th in the league for batting average this season (.260).

Rockies vs Padres Prediction

The Padres won seven of the previous ten H2H encounters, including the last four. All four wins came this year, and I am backing the Padres to add another one as I just can’t trust the Rockies’ pitchers. Bradley Blalock doesn’t have the required quality to be a starter in the MLB, while Kolek, although he started only once this year, did impress against the Pirates. Betting against the Rockies this season made me a solid profit, and I am not going to stop now. Go with the Padres.

Rockies vs Padres Prediction

When you see the Rockies, you fade them. It’s as simple as that. The Rockies are dreadful across the board and have won five games since March 30. Senzatela has allowed 57 hits and 21 earned runs in 34.1 innings. In 15.1 innings at Coors, Senzatela has a 7.63 ERA and a .333 allowed batting average. The Rockies have just one win this month and are on pace to be one of the worst teams in MLB history.

The season is still young, and a $100 bettor is down more than $2,100 betting on the Rockies. It’s bad, folks. It doesn’t matter what’s on the other side; you keep fading the Rockies. Of course, I’ll side with the RL to shave down the price.

Yankees vs Padres Prediction

New York desperately needed a win on Tuesday night, and they were able to have a huge seventh inning for the victory. The Yankees are 12-8 at home this year, while the Padres are 9-8 on the road. San Diego has played very well over the last few series, and they are starting Cease, who has allowed two earned runs or fewer in four straight outings, but hasn’t made it past five innings in his last three. New York is going with Fried, who has allowed zero earned runs in his last three starts (20.2 IP). Both pitchers are executing at a very high level right now, and I like the under in this contest.

Major League Baseball presents Draftkings baseball fans with an interleague matchup featuring the San Diego Padres and the New York Yankees. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the San Diego Padres vs. New York Yankees game let’s review the rules for the Draftkings MLB single game showdown contest.

Draftkings Single Game Showdown Contest Rules

You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard fantasy points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard fantasy points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a large field DFS GPP (guaranteed prize pool) showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one game slate.

Here are my Draftkings picks for tonight’s San Diego Padres vs. New York Yankees matchup.

Draftkings MLB Showdown Picks

Captain-Michael King, Starting Pitcher, San Diego Padres $12,000

On Tuesday night, Major League Baseball presents the second game of a three-game interleague series featuring the San Diego Padres and the New York Yankees.

How are these two teams playing entering tonight’s MLB game? The San Diego Padres arrive at the second game of this three-game series with the New York Yankees playing good baseball. The Padres have won six of the team’s last eight games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 5-3 win over the San Francisco Giants last week.

In direct contrast to the San Diego Padres, the New York Yankees are not playing well entering this evening’s game. The Yankees have lost five of the team’s last seven games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 3-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays three days ago.

Now that we have determined how both of these teams are currently playing let’s shift our attention to tonight’s contest. Starting pitcher Michael King has been a standout performer for the San Diego Padres this season. With that said, how has King performed from a statistical standpoint in 2025? Let’s review the veteran pitcher’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular season to answer that question.

Through seven starts made this season, San Diego Padres starting pitcher Michael King has compiled a rather impressive 4-1 (win-loss record), a 2.09 ERA (Earned Run Average) and a 1.01 WHIP (Walks and Hits per Inning Pitched). It should also be noted that Michael King has amassed 46 strikeouts while allowing eight walks in 38.2 innings pitched this season.

More recently, in the San Diego Padres 6-0 shutout win over the Colorado Rockies last month, San Diego starting pitcher Michael King pitched exceptionally well. Let me be more specific. King pitched nine quality innings while scattering five hits and allowing four walks in the San Diego Padres defeat of the Rockies.

In my view, Michael King is the most likely player to post the most Draftkings points in tonight’s MLB regular season game. Having stated that, I am backing San Diego Padres starting pitcher Michael King at the captain position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Flex plays I like to play well in this MLB regular season contest (Draftkings price noted): Clarke Schmidt, Starting Pitcher (New York Yankees) $10,400: Aaron Judge, Outfielder (New York Yankees) $10,400? Fernando Tatis Jr., Outfielder (San Diego Padres) $9,600.

In this article, we will formulate a Yankees vs Padres prediction for this MLB game on Tuesday, May 6, at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, New York. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

San Diego Padres Betting Preview

The San Diego Padres (23-11, 9-7 Away) are looking to match their longest winning streak of the season after winning the previous six games. After sweeping the Giants and Pirates, the Padres beat the Yankees in Game 1 of the current series. San Diego was 3-0 down until the 8th inning, but scored four unanswered to secure a 4-3 victory. Manny Machado and Xander Bogaerts led the offense with two RBI, while Nick Pivetta pitched for 5.0 innings in a no-decision, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits with five strikeouts and four walks. Ryan Bergert was credited with the win.

This year, the Padres average 4.03 runs per game (18th in the MLB) on a .260/.329/.393 triple-slash. When it comes to pitching, the Padres’ staff has a 2.75 ERA (1st) and 1.14 WHIP (4th). Fernando Tatis Jr. leads the Padres with a .317 batting average, eight home runs, and 18 RBI this season.

Michael King will take the mound for the Padres on Tuesday. The 29-year-old right-hander has a 4-1 record in seven starts this year with a 2.09 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in 38.2 innings.

New York Yankees Betting Preview

The New York Yankees (19-16, 11-8 Home) are hoping to avoid the fourth loss in a row for the first time this year after losing the previous three. The Yankees lost the series to the Orioles and Rays and opened the current series against the Padres with a 4-3 defeat. In that game, Trent Grisham led the offense with two RBI, while Carlos Rodon pitched for 6.2 innings in a no-decision, allowing no runs on three hits with five strikeouts and one walk. Luke Weaver took the loss.

This season, the Yankees average 5.50 runs per game (2nd in the MLB) on a .262/.346/.470 slash line. Regarding pitching, the Yankees’ staff has a 3.62 ERA (10th) and 1.20 WHIP (8th). Aaron Judge leads the Yankees with a .414 batting average, 11 home runs, and 33 RBI this season.

The projected starting pitcher for the Yankees is Clarke Schmidt, who is 0-1 in three starts this season, with a 5.52 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 14.2 innings.

Why the Padres will beat the Yankees

  • The Padres have won seven of their last eight night games against AL East opponents following a win.
  • The Yankees have lost each of their last four night games against teams that held a winning record.
  • The Padres have covered the run line in seven of their last eight night games against AL East opponents following a win.
  • The Yankees have failed to cover the run line in five of their last six night games against NL West opponents.

Total Runs Facts

  • Eight of the Padres’ last nine games against American League opponents have gone UNDER the total runs line.
  • Five of the Yankees’ last six home games after playing the previous day have gone UNDER the total runs line.
  • The ‘Inning 1 UNDER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in each of the Padres’ last four games against American League opponents.
  • The ‘Inning 1 OVER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in 10 of the Yankees’ last 12 home games against NL West opponents.

Matchup/League Facts

  • The Yankees rank 1st in the league for on-base percentage this season (.344).
  • The Yankees rank 1st in the league for opponent batting average this season (.204).
  • The Padres rank T1st in the league for hits allowed this season (231).
  • The Padres rank 1st in the league for runs allowed this season (98).

Yankees vs Padres Prediction

The Yankees won six of the previous ten H2H encounters, including four of the last six. I am giving a slight advantage to the Padres not only because they are in a better form, but also because of the pitching matchup. Michael King allowed more than two runs only once in his last six starts, and one in total in the previous two starts. Clarke Schmidt is not on the same level as King, and I am sure the Padres will score several runs off him on Tuesday.

Draftkings MLB Showdown Picks

Captain-Nick Pivetta, Starting Pitcher, San Diego Padres $12,000

On Monday night, Major League Baseball presents the opening game of a three-game interleague series featuring the San Diego Padres and the New York Yankees.

How are these two teams playing entering tonight’s MLB game? The San Diego Padres arrive at the first game of this three-game series with the New York Yankees playing good baseball. In direct contrast to the San Diego Padres, the New York Yankees are not playing well entering this evening’s game. More specifically, the Yankees have lost four of the team’s last six games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 3-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays two days ago.

Now that we have determined how both of these teams are currently playing let’s turn our attention to this evening’s contest. Starting pitcher Nick Pivetta has been a solid contributor for the San Diego Padres starting rotation this season. Having stated that, how has the talented pitcher performed from a statistical perspective? Let’s review Pivetta’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular season to answer that question.

San Diego Padres starting pitcher Nick Pivetta has compiled a 5-1 (win-loss record), a 1.78 ERA (Earned Run Average) and a 0.82 WHIP (Walks and Hits per Inning Pitched) in 2025. Additionally, Pivetta has amassed 39 strikeouts while allowing eight walks in 35.1 innings pitched this season.

More recently, in the San Diego Padres 7-4 win over the San Francisco Giants six days ago, San Diego starting pitcher Nick Pivetta certainly pitched at a high level. Pivetta pitched 5.1 quality innings while scattering five hits and only one walk in the Padres victory over the Giants.

In my view, Nick Pivetta is the most likely player to post the most Draftkings points in tonight’s MLB game. With that said, I am backing San Diego Padres starting pitcher Nick Pivetta at the captain position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Flex plays I like to play well in this MLB regular season contest (Draftkings price noted): Carlos Rodon, Starting Pitcher (New York Yankees) $11,600: Fernando Tatis Jr., Outfielder (San Diego Padres) $9,200: Manny Machado, Third Baseman (San Diego Padres) $8,000.

In this article, we will formulate a Yankees vs Padres prediction for this MLB game on Monday, May 5th at Yankee Stadium in New York. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

New York Yankees Betting Preview

The New York Yankees are 19-15 this season after they lost two out of three against the Rays by scores of 3-0, 2-3, and 5-7. In their game three loss, the Yankees trailed 5-0 in the fourth inning, but they did score five late runs before falling short in the comeback attempt. New York recorded eight hits and they committed two errors in the game, while they were led by Bellinger and Vivas, who both had two RBIs in the loss. New York started Warren, who allowed seven hits and three earned runs over 4.2 innings for the loss, while Carrasco allowed five hits and two earned runs over the final three innings.

Prior to that series, the Yankees lost two out of three against the Orioles, but did win two out of three against the Blue Jays before that. New York has lost three of their last four games, and they are currently first in the AL East standings. The New York pitching staff has a 3.62 ERA with a 1.20 WHIP and a .205 opponent batting average, while the offense has scored 187 runs with a .262 batting average and a .346 on-base percentage this season. Aaron Judge has led New York with 11 home runs and 33 RBIs, while Trent Grisham has added eight home runs and 15 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for New York is Carlos Rodon, who is 4-3 with a 3.43 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP over 42.0 innings pitched this season.

San Diego Padres Betting Preview

The San Diego Padres are 22-11 this year after they won all three games against the Pirates by scores of 9-4, 2-1, and 4-0. In their game three win, San Diego scored four runs in the first two innings, and they were able to cruise the rest of the way for the win. The Padres recorded 10 hits in the game, and they were led by Bogaerts, who went 2-4 with three RBIs in the win. San Diego started Kolek, who allowed just four hits over 5.1 innings for the win, while four relievers combined for 3.2 scoreless innings to complete the shutout.

Prior to that series, the Padres won both games against the Giants, but did lose all three against the Rays before that. San Diego has won five games in a row, and they are currently second in the NL West standings. The San Diego pitching staff has a 2.75 ERA with a 1.14 WHIP and a .211 opponent batting average, while their offense has scored 133 runs with a .260 batting average and a .329 on-base percentage this season. Fernando Tatis has led San Diego with eight home runs and 18 RBIs, while Gavin Sheets has added four home runs and 14 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for San Diego is Nick Pivetta, who is 5-1 with a 1.78 ERA and a 0.82 WHIP over 35.1 innings pitched this year.

Yankees vs Padres Prediction

Both of these teams come into this series with very solid records to start the season, but New York will be at home, where they are 11-7 so far this year. The Yankees have struggled in their last two series, but they will go with Rodon, who has allowed a total of two earned runs in his last three starts. San Diego has won five games in a row, and they will start Pivetta, who has allowed one earned run or fewer in three of his last four starts. I like what I am seeing from both of these pitchers, and I think runs could be at a premium here. Take the under.

In this article, we will formulate a Pirates vs Padres Prediction for this MLB game on Saturday, May 4th, at the Rogers Centre. Let’s take a look at a Pittsburgh Pirates vs San Diego Padres pick.

Padres Look for Third Straight Win

The Padres are looking for their third straight win after picking up the last two wins over the Pirates. In the first game, the offense scored nine runs, but on Saturday, they scored only two runs. Manny Machado hit a home run, and that ended up being the difference as they were able to pick up the one-run victory. Randy Vasquez went five innings, giving up six hits and one run.

The Padres are averaging 4.03 runs while their pitching is giving up 2.96 runs per game. The offense might not be as good as years past, but what the pitching has done has been nothing short of spectacular. Stephen Kolek will be making the first start of the season for the Padres after losing out on the 5th starter job.

Another Long Season for the Pirates

It’s going to be another long season for the Pirates, and maybe at some point the rebuild will work, but it’s not going to be this season. It hasn’t seemed to matter if the Pirates have been involved in higher-scoring games or lower-scoring games; they have struggled. On Saturday, the offense managed only one run, and even though the pitching was good, it didn’t matter because the offense couldn’t string together quality at-bats. Oneil Cruz has had a solid bat, hitting eight home runs and driving in 18 RBIs.

The Pirates are averaging 3.33 runs per game, while their pitching is giving up 4.65 runs per game. The offense is ranked 27th, while the pitching is ranked 21st. Getting the start for the Pirates will be Andrew Heaney, who has a 2-2 record and an ERA of 2.50. In his last start against the Chicago Cubs, he went 4.2 innings, giving up five hits and four runs.

Pirates vs Padres Prediction

The Pirates have not had many wins this season, and I don’t think they are going to win that many games overall. That doesn’t mean they aren’t going to win any games the rest of the year, in fact, they are going to win of them here. Andrew Heaney has been a bright spot for the Pirates, and he will have a strong start here. Kolek will be making his first start of the season, and I don’t expect him to lock down. The Pirates will score at least four or five runs, which will be enough for them to come out on top. Back the Pirates to end up pulling the upset.

Pirates vs Padres Prediction

This price is soft when you consider the Padres have been one of the best teams in baseball all season. Yes, Vasquez has had his struggles, which include allowing 20 hits and 13 earned runs in his last 21.1 innings. Vasquez also has an ERA over six on the road through 11.2 innings. However, Falter has allowed 25 hits and 18 earned runs in his last 24.1 innings. He has an ERA of nearly six on the season. The Pirates are also the inferior team. I was originally going to lean toward the over, but the Padres have to be the play at this price, simply being the better team by a decent-sized gap.

In this article, we will formulate a Pirates vs Padres Prediction for this MLB game on Friday, May 2nd, at Oracle Park. Let’s take a look at the San Diego Padres vs Pittsburgh Pirates pick.

Padres Look for Third Straight Win

The Padres are looking for their third straight win after winning their last two games against the San Francisco Giants. In the last game, the offense managed five runs on the way to the two-run victory. Elias Diaz had a strong game, hitting a home run. Michael King also had a really good start, going 5.2 innings, giving up three hits and one earned run.

The Padres are averaging 3.93 runs while their pitching is giving up 3.0 runs per game. The offense is ranked 19th, while the pitching is the top in baseball. This pitching staff for this squad has not gotten enough attention for how well they have pitched this season. Getting the start for the Padres in this game will be Dylan Cease, who hasn’t been a bright spot for the team, sitting with a 1-2 record and an ERA of 5.76. Against the Tampa Bay Rays in his last start, he went 4.1 innings, giving up six his and three runs.

Pirates Continue to Struggle

The Pirates continue to struggle, and they are coming off a disappointing loss. The Pirates scored three runs against the Chicago Cubs, and that led to the defeat. Paul Skenes didn’t have his best stuff, and he went five innings, giving up five hits and three earned runs. He had four walks and two strikeouts. Bryan Reynolds had a solid game, and he hit a home run and drove in two RBIs.

The Pirates are averaging 3.41 runs while their pitching is giving up 4.59 runs per game. The offense is ranked 27th in the league, while the pitching is ranked 21st. Oneil Cdruz has hit eight home runs and driven in 17 RBIs. Getting the start for the Pirates will be Mitch Keller, who sits with a 1-2 record and an ERA of 3.97. Against the Dodgers in his last start, he went six innings, giving up five hits and two runs.

Why the Pirates Will Beat the Padres

  • The Pirates have won six of their last seven games as underdogs following a home loss.
  • The Padres have lost three of their last four games as favorites.
  • The Padres have failed to cover the run line each of their last five games against teams that held a losing record.
  • The Pirates have covered the run line in each of their last five home games against National League opponents following a home loss.
  • The Padres have trailed after 3 innings in three of their last four road games against NL Central opponents.

Total Run Facts

  • Four of the Pirates’ last five night games against NL West opponents have gone UNDER the total runs line.
  • Three of the Padres’ last four games as favorites have gone UNDER the total runs line.
  • The ‘Inning 1 OVER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in 10 of the Pirates’ last 11 games against NL West opponents.
  • The ‘Inning 1 OVER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in each of the Padres’ last four games as road favorites against NL Central opponents.

Pirates vs Padres Prediction

The Pirates have struggled this season, but even the worst teams win games, and that is going to be the case here. Getting the start for the Padres is Dylan Cease, and he sits with an ERA of 5.76. The Pirates’ offense has been inconsistent, but they are going to get the offense out to a fast start, and that will be the difference here. The Pirates might only score four or five runs, but that will be enough with a strong start from Mitch Keller. Back the Pirates.
