In this article we will formulate a Boise State vs Butler prediction for this College Basketball game on Wednesday, April 2nd at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this game in the 2nd Round of the College Basketball Crown.

Boise State Broncos Betting Preview

The Boise State Broncos are 25-10 (14-6) this year after they defeated George Washington by a score of 89-59 in their last game. Boise State led 32-26 at halftime and they scored 57 points in the second half for the blowout win. The Broncos shot 50% from the field, 36% on three pointers, and 88.9% on free throws in the game. Tyson Degenhart led Boise State with 19 points and four rebounds, while Andrew Meadow added 15 points and three rebounds in the win.

Prior to that game, the Broncos lost to Colorado State by a score of 69-56, but did beat New Mexico by a score of 72-69 before that. Boise State has won three of their last four games and they finished tied for fourth in the Mountain West standings with a 14-6 record. Boise State has scored 75.3 points per game and they have allowed 65.9 points against per game, while also averaging 36.5 rebounds and 14.5 assists per game this season. Tyson Degenhart is averaging 18.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game, while Andrew Meadow is averaging 12.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 0.8 steals per game this year. Boise State is shooting 45.9% from the field, 77.7% on free throws, and 31% on three pointers this season.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Butler Bulldogs are 15-19 (6-14) this season after they defeated Utah by a score of 86-84 in their last game. Butler trailed 46-42 at halftime, but they scored 44 points in the second half and got a bucket with just a few seconds left for the win. The Bulldogs shot 47.6% from the field, 40.6% on three pointers, and 65% on free throws in the game. Pierre Brooks II led Butler with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Finley Bizjack added 16 points and three assists in the win.

Prior to that game, the Bulldogs lost to St. John’s by a score of 78-57, but did beat Providence by a score of 75-69 before that. Butler has lost five of their last seven games and they finished tied for eighth in the Big East standings with a 6-14 record. Butler has scored 74.2 points per game and they have allowed 74.1 points against per game, while also averaging 35.1 rebounds and 13.9 assists per game this season. Jahmyl Telfort is averaging 16.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game, while Pierre Brooks II is averaging 15.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game this year. Butler is shooting 45.6% from the field, 74.2% on free throws, and 36.6% on three pointers this season.

Why Boise State will beat Butler

  • Boise State has won 12 of its last 15 games.
  • Butler has lost three of its last four games against non-Conference opponents.
  • Butler has lost the first half in each of its last four games against non-Conference opponents.

Matchup/League Facts

  • Boise State ranks 2nd among Division 1 teams for opponent rebounds per game this season (28.5).
  • Boise State ranks 8th among Division 1 teams for rebound percentage this season (56.0%).
  • Butler ranks 364th among Division 1 teams for opponent assist to turnover ratio this season (1.81).
  • Butler ranks 363rd among Division 1 teams for opponent turnovers per game this season (7.5).

Boise State vs Butler Prediction

Boise State comes into this matchup after dismantling George Washington in the second half, and they are still trying to prove a point after they felt they were snubbed from the NCAA Tournament. The Broncos had a great season in the Mountain West and their defense is very good. Butler was fortunate to get by Utah in their first game of the tournament, but I think their lack of defense is going to be the difference. The Bulldogs are allowing 74.1 points against per game this year and they have allowed 78+ in four of their last five. Take Boise State to cover here.

Gabe Madsen is the team’s top performer with 15.1 PPG, 2.6 RPG, and 2.5 APG. Ezra Ausar has 12.4 PPG and 5.0 RPG, while Lawson Lovering contributes 8.4 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 2.7 APG.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Butler Bulldogs (14-19, 15-18 ATS) ended the regular season with four consecutive losses, falling to St. John’s, Villanova, Xavier, and Creighton. The Bulldogs got the No. 9 seed for the Big East tournament and defeated Providence in the first round but couldn’t do much against the eventual winner St. John’s in the quarterfinals.

Butler averages 73.8 PPG (187th) and allows 73.8 PPG (237th). The Bulldogs are 223rd in rebounds (35.0) and 173rd in assists (14.0). Jahmyl Telfort leads the team with 16.0 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 3.4 APG, and 1.0 SPG. Pierre Brooks II follows him with 15.2 PPG and 5.0 RPG, while Patrick McCaffery chips in 11.3 PPG and 4.4 RPG.

  • Utah ranks 14th among Division 1 teams for rebounds per game this season (39.8).
  • Utah ranks 40th among Division 1 teams for rebound percentage this season (53.6%).

Butler vs Utah Prediction

Butler has won each of three H2H encounters so far, but the previous meeting was back in 2017. Neither teams is playing well at the moment, so I’ll stay away from backing the winner here. I am going with Over instead. Each of Utah’s last four games went Over, which was the case in six of Butler’s previous ten games. Additionally, Butler has hit the Team Total Over in 21 of its last 31 games, while the Bulldogs have hit the Game Total Over in 16 of their previous 23 games.

The Butler Bulldogs and the St. John’s Red Storm meet Thursday in Big East Tournament college basketball action from Madison Square Garden. Here’s a St. John’s vs Butler prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best St. John’s vs Butler pick.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Bulldogs have had a couple of nice runs this year, but overall it’s been a pretty spotty season. Butler lost to only Austin Peay in their first eight games, then hit the skids versus Houston, North Dakota State, Wisconsin, Marquette, UConn, Villanova, St. John’s, Providence and Creighton. A 5-3 run with wins over Seton Hall, DePaul, Seton Hall again, Providence and Georgetown (with losses to UConn, Marquette and Georgetown) came next, then a 1-5 run with a lone win over DePaul. The losses otherwise in that stretch were versus Xavier, St. John’s, Villanova, Xavier and Creighton in succession. That would give the Bulldogs a 13-18 overall record through the 31 games of the regular season.

In their matchup with Providence on Wednesday, the Bulldogs were up 39-31 going into the second half. Butler hit another 36 points from there on the way to a 75-69 win. Leading the team in scoring was Pierre Brooks with his 25 points, seven boards, two assists and two steals. Jahmyl Telfort added 16 points with three steals, two rebounds and two assists also.

St. John’s Red Storm Betting Preview

Over on the St. John’s side, they’ve been a highly consistent team so far this year, with just a few scattered losses here and there. The Red Storm did lose two of their first seven games versus Baylor and Georgia, then came back with wins over Harvard, Kansas State, DePaul, Providence and Delaware before another loss to Creighton. Since then St. John’s has just one loss in the books. That one came February 12 versus Villanova. Otherwise it’s been wins over Butler, Xavier, Villanova, Georgetown, Seton Hall, Xavier, Georgetown, Providence, Marquette, UConn, Creighton, DePaul, UConn, Butler, Seton Hall and Marquette. In total that gives the Red Storm a nice 27-4 overall record this year.

In their latest win over Marquette, St. John’s posted a 36-35 advantage in the first half but eventually needed overtime to power out the tight win 86-84. Tops in scoring was RJ Luis with 28 points, 11 rebounds and 39 minutes of action. Also doubling up in the win was Zuby Ejiofor (17 points; 12 rebounds), while Kadary Richmond notched a triple-double on 10 points, 11 assists and 12 rebounds alongside four steals. Simeon Wilcher chipped in 13 points with three assists and two rebounds in 41 minutes on the court as well.

Why the St. John’s Red Storm will win

  • St. John’s has won each of its last 17 home games against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • Butler has lost each of its last 10 games against Top 10 AP-ranked opponents.
  • St. John’s has won the first half in each of its last 13 day games at Madison Square Garden.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

  • Butler has won the first half in six of its last seven day games against Top 10 AP-ranked opponents.

Matchup/League Facts

  • St. John’s ranks 4th among Division 1 teams for field goal attempts per game this season (65.3).
  • St. John’s ranks T6th among Division 1 teams for rebounds per game this season (40.8).
  • Butler ranks 364th among Division 1 teams for opponent assist to turnover ratio this season (1.81).
  • Butler ranks 363rd among Division 1 teams for opponent turnovers per game this season (7.5).

St. John’s vs Butler Prediction

I’ll lean toward St. John’s, but it’s something of a hefty line. The Red Storm posted a great road victory in overtime versus a strong Marquette team during their last outing. St. John’s shot pretty well from the field in that one (44.6 percent) and had a 46-42 rebounding advantage. The Storm weren’t so great from 3-point range though (21.7 percent on 5-of-23) and had 12 turnovers for 16 Eagles points on the other side. The victory gives St. John’s a nice six-game win streak, and they’ve won 16 of their last 17 games overall. The Storm have hit 71 or more points in seven straight games as well.

These teams have met twice so far this year, with the Storm taking wins both times. First was a 70-62 home victory on January 4, then a 76-70 road win on February 26. In that most recent game, the Storm shot a nice 49.2 percent from the field with just nine turnovers, but did get beaten on the boards 39-32. Butler, meanwhile, shot just 39.3 percent from the field with 13 turnovers for 17 Red Storm points. St. John’s won’t be able to rely on mistakes so much this time, but I think they’re still in a good spot. That said, the line seems thick enough to take Butler on a hunch as well.

The Butler Bulldogs and the Providence Friars meet Wednesday in Big East Tournament college basketball action from Madison Square Garden. Here’s a Providence vs Butler prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Providence vs Butler pick.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Bulldogs kicked off the season on a nice run, but since then (outside of a couple brief stretches) it’s been a struggle in the win column. Butler lost to only Austin Peay in their first eight games, then hit the skids with losses to Houston, North Dakota State, Wisconsin, Marquette, UConn, Villanova, St. John’s, Providence and Creighton. A 6-4 run came next with wins over Seton Hall, DePaul, Seton Hall again, Providence, Georgetown and DePaul again among losses to UConn, Marquette, Georgetown and Xavier. Since then it’s been four straight losses for the Bulldogs versus St. John’s, Villanova, Xavier and Creighton. In total that gives the Bulldogs a 13-18 overall run across 31 games this year so far.

In the Creighton matchup over the weekend, the Bulldogs were down 52-44 going into the second half. Butler didn’t get any closer than that on a 35-30 run and took the loss 87-74 in the end. Tops in scoring were Patrick McCaffery (three steals; two assists) and Jahmyl Telfort (six assists; five rebounds), each with 19 points. Also in double-figures off the bench was Andre Screen with 10 points and six rebounds in 20 minutes of work in the defeat.

Providence Friars Betting Preview

Over on the Providence side, they won their first quintet of outings this year. Since then however, it’s been a rough skid with few bright spots. The Friars went just 2-8 after that opening run, falling to Oklahoma, Davidson, Indiana, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, St. John’s, Marquette and UConn. A 4-2 run came next with wins over Butler, Seton Hall, Georgetown and Seton Hall again, then a 1-9 stretch. Those losses came versus St. John’s, Creighton, Butler, Xavier, Georgetown, Marquette, UConn, DePaul and Xavier in succession. In total that gives the Friars a 12-19 overall run across 31 outings this season.

Matched up against Xavier on the road Saturday, the Friars entered the second half with a 36-32 deficit. After a 40-36 run from there, Providence had another loss 76-68 in the end. Bensley Joseph did most of the scoring work for the Friars, with 27 points, three rebounds, two steals and two assists. Ryan Mela added 12 points with seven rebounds and four assists in 32 minutes of work. Both Jayden Pierre (five rebounds) and Oswin Erhunmwunse (six rebounds) added eight points apiece in the loss as well.

Why the Providence Friars will win

  • Butler has lost each of its last four games.
  • Providence has won six of its last seven day games at Madison Square Garden against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • Butler has lost the first half in each of its last four games against the Big East Conference.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

  • Providence has lost nine of its last 10 games.
  • Butler has won four of its last five day games against non-AP-ranked opponents at a neutral venue.
  • Providence has lost the first half in each of its last four day games against the Big East Conference.

Total Points Facts

  • Each of Providence’s last nine games against non-AP-ranked opponents at Madison Square Garden have produced a total of 148 or fewer points.
  • Twenty-seven of Butler’s last 29 games against non-AP-ranked opponents at a neutral venue have produced a total of 149 or fewer points.

Matchup/League Facts

  • Butler ranks 364th among Division 1 teams for opponent assist to turnover ratio this season (1.81).
  • Butler ranks 363rd among Division 1 teams for opponent turnovers per game this season (7.5).

Providence vs Butler Prediction

I’m going to take a stab on Providence, but I’ll likely skip this one in reality as you could make a case either way. The Friars didn’t look spectacular in their latest loss to a good Xavier team, hitting just 4-of-11 (36.4 percent) from the line alongside 17 turnovers for 20 Musketeers points. The bad news is that Providence has lost nine of their last 10 games. The good news is that they’ve still scored pretty well, with 68 or more points in seven of those 10 outings.

These teams split the season series, with the home team taking it each time. Providence won 84-65 on January 8, and Butler returned the favor 82-81 on February 8. In that latest meeting both teams were comparable in shooting (each had 50 percent from the field) and turnovers (Providence had 10 of 21 total). The Bulldogs’ edge came on the boards though, as Butler powered out a 34-24 advantage in rebounding (12-6 offensive). The neutral location of this third matchup should keep things pretty evenly balanced once again, but the Friars are going to have to hit the boards a little harder and try to get Butler’s shooting percentage down. It’ll be a fun one to watch regardless.

The Creighton Bluejays and Butler Bulldogs meet on Saturday in college basketball action at CHI Health Center Omaha. Here’s a Creighton vs Butler prediction. This article will include a Creighton vs Butler Pick.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Butler Bulldogs (13-17, 14-16 ATS) went on a three-game winning streak by defeating Seton Hall, Providence, and Georgetown, but then lost four of the next five games. Butler suffered three consecutive defeats to St. John’s, Villanova, and Xavier. The Bulldogs are 8th in the Big East Standings with the same record as Providence, eight wins behind Creighton and 11 behind the leaders St. John’s.

Butler is averaging 74.4 PPG (177th) and is allowing 73.4 PPG (226th). The Bulldogs are getting 35.5 RPG (195th) and dish out 14.2 APG (154th). Jahmyl Telfort is the team’s top scorer with 16.1 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and a team-high 3.4 APG. Pierre Brooks II adds 15.6 PPG and 4.9 RPG, while Patrick McCaffery contributes 11.0 PPG and 4.6 RPG.

Creighton Bluejays Betting Preview

The Creighton Bluejays (21-9, 17-11-2 ATS) experienced their best period of the season during which they recorded nine consecutive victories. The Bluejays slowed down a bit and now have three wins out of the last six games. They are back home from a two-game road trip on which they lost to Xavier and beat Seton Hall. Creighton is 2nd in the Big East Standings with a win ahead of Marquette and UConn and three games behind the No. 1 seed St. John’s.

Creighton averages 75.0 PPG (155th) and allows 68.8 PPG (85th). The Bluejays are 74th in rebounds (37.7) and 24th in assists (17.1). Ryan Kalkbrenner leads the team with 19.1 PPG, a team-high 8.8 RPG, and a team-high 2.7 BPG. Steven Ashworth follows him with 16.6 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and a team-high 6.9 APG, while Pop Isaacs has 16.3 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 3.9 APG.

Why Creighton will beat Butler

  • Creighton has won each of its last 16 day games at CHI Health Center Omaha.
  • Butler has lost eight of its last nine games at CHI Health Center Omaha.
  • Creighton has won the first half in each of its last 11 Saturday home games against the Big East Conference.

Creighton vs Butler Prediction

Creighton won seven of the previous ten H2H encounters, including five of the last six. The Blue Jays got an 80-76 victory at Butler earlier this season and covered four of the past five meetings. Creighton won ten of the last 11 games at home, while in this fixture, the Bluejays are 9-1 over the last ten at home against Butler. Creighton has covered the Spread in 22 of its last 35 games, and they are fighting to secure the No. 2 seed in the Big East tournament. I am backing the Bluejays to get that win and cover.

The Xavier Musketeers and Butler Bulldogs meet Tuesday in college basketball action at the Hinkle Fieldhouse. Here’s a Butler vs Xavier Prediction. This article will include a Butler vs Xavier Pick.

The Xavier Musketeers are allowing 32.3 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 30.4 rebounds per game.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Butler Bulldogs lost to St. John’s and Villanova, and they play Creighton next. It’s senior night for a Butler roster that has four seniors.

Jahmyl Terlfort is averaging 16 points and 4.7 rebounds, while Pierre Brooks II is averaging 15.6 points and 1.9 assists. The Butler Bulldogs are shooting 36.7 percent from beyond the arc and 74.2 percent from the free throw line. The Butler Bulldogs are allowing 30.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 32.7 rebounds per game.

  • Xavier ranks 9th among Division 1 teams for free throw percentage this season (79.0%).
  • Xavier ranks 13th among Division 1 teams for a three-point percentage this season (38.7%).

Butler vs Xavier Injury Report

Butler will be without Jamie Kaiser Jr. and Augusto Cassia. Xavier will be without Trey Green and Lassina Traore.

Butler vs Xavier Prediction

Butler is at its best at home where nine of its 13 wins have come, and the Bulldogs will be up for this game on senior night. However, Butler has underachieved all season and doesn’t do anything well on either side of the ball that’s going to scare opponents. Xavier is playing some of its best ball of the season with five straight wins, and it’s looking like a sneaky contender for the Big East Tournament. Xavier beat Butler by 13 points less than a month ago. I’d need more points to consider Butler in this spot. Instead, I’ll lay the small chalk with Xavier on the road.

  • Each of Villanova’s last four day games at Finneran Pavilion have produced a total of 150+ points.

Butler vs. Villanova Prediction

I’m on Butler here. It took a monumental run late in the second half of that game for Villanova to pull out the win in the first meeting between these two teams, and I don’t see Butler replicating that meltdown here. The Bulldogs were the better team for 80-90% of that game before falling apart, and at worst in the rematch I think they keep it close if they don’t give themselves a chance to win outright. Give me Butler and the points.

The St. John’s Red Storm and Butler Bulldogs meet Wednesday in college basketball action at the Hinkle Fieldhouse. Here’s a Butler vs St. John’s Prediction. This article will include a Butler vs St. John’s Pick.

St. John’s Red Storm Betting Preview

The St. John’s Red Storm beat DePaul and UConn, and they play Steon Hall and Marquette next. St. John’s has lost one game under the 2025 calendar and is the team to beat in the Big East.

The St. John’s Red Storm are averaging 78.7 points on 44.8 percent shooting and allowing 65.7 points on 39.7 percent shooting. RJ Luis Jr. is averaging 17.4 points and 7.1 rebounds, while Zuby Ejiofor is averaging 14 points and 1.5 assists. Kadary Richmond is the third double-digit scorer and Deivon Smith is dishing 4.3 assists. The St. John’s Red Storm are shooting 30.2 percent from beyond the arc and 68.9 percent from the free throw line. The St. John’s Red Storm are allowing 33.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 36.4 rebounds per game.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Butler Bulldogs lost to Xavier, beat DePaul, and they play Villanova, Xavier, and Creighton next. DePaul is 1-6 SU this season against ranked teams.

The Butler Bulldogs are averaging 74.6 points on 46.4 percent shooting and allowing 72.4 points on 42.8 percent shooting. Jahmyl Terlfort is averaging 16.1 points and 4.7 rebounds, while Pierre Brooks II is averaging 15.8 points and 1.9 assists. Patrick McCaffery is the third double-digit scorer and Andre Screen is grabbing 6.1 rebounds. The Butler Bulldogs are shooting 37.4 percent from beyond the arc and 73.6 percent from the free throw line. The Butler Bulldogs are allowing 30.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 32.8 rebounds per game.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

  • The home team has won six of the last seven games between St. John’s and Butler.
  • St. John’s has lost eight of its last 10 games at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
  • Butler has won the first half in seven of its last eight games against the Big East Conference.

Why the St. John’s Red Storm will win

  • St. John’s has won each of its last 10 night games following a home win.
  • Butler has lost each of its last nine games against Top 10 AP-ranked opponents.
  • St. John’s has won the first half in each of its last seven night games against Butler.

Total Points Facts

  • Eleven of the last 12 games between St. John’s and Butler have produced a total of 149 or fewer points.
  • Eight of St. John’s’ last nine night games against Conference opponents have produced a total of 148 or fewer points.

Butler vs St. John’s Injury Report

St. John’s will be without Jaiden Glover and Brady Dunlap. Butler will be without Augusto Cassia and Jamie Kaiser Jr., while Evan Haywood is questionable with an illness.

Butler vs St. John’s Prediction

The Hinkle Fieldhouse is never an easy place to play, and Butler will be up for this game with a top-10 team coming to town. Butler has seen nine of its 13 wins this season come at home. However, St. John’s has been too consistent on both sides of the ball and is a profitable 17-10-1 ATS on the season. St. John’s is 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS in the last four games against Butler, and this version of the Red Storm is the best yet. It won’t be a fun environment for St. John’s, but I’m still laying the points with the road team.

The Butler Bulldogs and DePaul Blue Demons meet on Saturday in college basketball action at Wintrust Arena. Here’s a Butler vs DePaul Prediction. This article will include a Butler vs DePaul Pick.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Butler Bulldogs (12-14, 13-13 ATS) went through a rough patch and nine consecutive defeats from early December to mid-January. Since then, Butler won five of nine games, including three of the previous four. After beating Seton Hall, Providence, and Georgetown, the Blue Demons lost 76-63 to Xavier on the road. Butler is 9th in the Big East, two places ahead of DePaul.

Butler is averaging 74.2 PPG (193rd) and is allowing 72.4 PPG (203rd). The Bulldogs are getting 35.7 RPG (189th) and are having 14.3 APG (152nd). Jahmyl Telfort is the team’s top scorer with 16.0 PPG, along with 4.7 RPG, a team-high 3.4 APG, and a team-high 1.0 SPG. Pierre Brooks II adds 15.5 PPG and 4.9 RPG, while Patrick McCaffery has 11.5 PPG and 4.7 RPG.

DePaul Blue Demons Betting Preview

The DePaul Blue Demons (11-16, 11-15-1 ATS) experienced a much worse phase than Butler over the last two months. DePaul started the campaign with a 7-0 record, and since then, the Blue Demons are 3-16! At the moment, DePaul is on a four-game losing skid, recording defeats to Villanova, Marquette, Xavier, and St. John’s. Now, DePaul is at the bottom of the Big East and will likely finish the season there.

DePaul averages 72.2 PPG (249th) and allows 73.5 PPG (238th). The Blue Demons are 209th in rebounds (35.4) and 73rd in assists (15.6). CJ Gunn leads the team with 12.3 PPG, along with 3.9 RPG, and 1.1 SPG. Jacob Meyer follows him with 10.7 PPG and 3.1 RPG, while Isaiah Rivera chips in with 9.7 PPG and 3.3 RPG.

Why Butler will beat DePaul

  • DePaul has lost each of its last 16 night games against the Big East Conference at Wintrust Arena.
  • Butler has won each of its last 10 games against DePaul.
  • DePaul has lost the first half in each of its last 18 Saturday games against the Big East Conference.

Why DePaul will beat Butler

  • Butler has lost eight of its last nine road night games against the Big East Conference.
  • The home team has won four of Butler’s last five games.
  • Butler has lost the first half in 16 of its last 20 road night games against the Big East Conference.

Butler vs DePaul Injury Report

Conor Enright is dealing with an undisclosed injury and will not take the court for the Blue Demons. He will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season. NJ Benson is dealing with a hand injury and is uncertain to take the court for the Blue Demons, while David Skogman has an undisclosed injury and is questionable for the hosts.

Butler vs DePaul Prediction

Butler secured a W in the first H2H meeting this season; it was 86-69. I would avoid betting on the spread as both teams are struggling, but I’d recommend betting on the total instead. Butler is 15-11 O/U this year, while DePaul is 15-12.

Butler has hit the game total Over in 6 of its last 11 away games, while DePaul went Over in 19 of its last 34 games. They combined for 155 points in the opening H2H of the season, and I am pretty sure both teams will score 70+ in this one. Go with Over.

The Butler Bulldogs and the Xavier Musketeers meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Cintas Center. Here’s a Xavier vs Butler prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Xavier vs Butler pick.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

Butler had an ugly losing streak that lasted most of December and into January, but outside of that, they’re doing pretty well overall this year. The Bulldogs went 7-1 in their first eight games with a lone loss to Austin Peay among wins over Missouri State, Western Michigan, SMU, Merrimack, Northwestern, Mississippi State, and Eastern Illinois in that time. Losses to Houston, North Dakota State, Wisconsin, Marquette, UConn, Villanova, St. John’s, Providence, and Creighton followed, then wins over Seton Hall and DePaul around another loss to UConn. Following two more losses to Marquette and Georgetown, the Bulldogs have since beaten Seton Hall, Providence, and Georgetown over their last trio. That gives Butler a sub-500 record of 12-13 through their first 25 games of the season so far.

In the Georgetown game on Saturday, the Bulldogs opened up on a 46-35 advantage in the first half. Butler kept the pace from there on a 51-51 run and took the victory in the end 97-86. Pierre Brooks led the team with 30 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals. Finley Bizjack added 15 points with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block. Tops off the bench was Landon Moore with his 13 points and six rebounds in 18 minutes of work.

Xavier Musketeers Betting Preview

Over on the Xavier side, they’ve had some mixed results in the record column but haven’t done too badly outside of a rough stretch in December. The Musketeers took out Texas Southern, IUPUI, Jackson State, Wake Forest, Siena, and South Carolina in their first six games, then hit a 3-7 run over the next 10 outings. The wins in that time were over South Carolina State, Morgan State, and Seton Hall. Otherwise, it was losses to Michigan, TCU, Cincinnati, UConn, Marquette, Georgetown and St. John’s. Since then Xavier has gone 7-3 over a 10-game span with losses to St. John’s, Creighton, and Villanova. The wins otherwise came versus DePaul, Villanova, Marquette, UConn, Georgetown, Providence, and DePaul in succession, giving the Musketeers a 16-10 overall run through their first 26 games this year.

In the home rematch versus DePaul on Saturday, the Musketeers came out of the locker room with a 45-31 advantage. Xavier kept it up in the second half with a 40-37 run and took the eventual victory 85-68 in the end. All five starters finished the game in double-figures, led by Zach Freemantle and his 19 points, nine rebounds, and one assist in 29 minutes. Dailyn Swain added 17 points with seven boards and eight assists, while both Ryan Conwell and Dayton McKnight had 14 points each. Marcus Foster chipped in 11 points as well.

Why the Xavier Musketeers will win

  • Xavier has won 12 of its last 13 games at Cintas Center against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • Butler has lost seven of its last eight road night games against the Big East Conference.
  • Butler has lost the first half in each of its last four games at Cintas Center.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

  • Butler has won five of its last six games against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • Xavier has lost five of its last six games following a home win.
  • Butler has won the first half in each of its last six games against the Big East Conference.

Xavier vs Butler Prediction

I’ll lean toward Xavier here. The Musketeers dispatched DePaul without too much difficulty in their last outing, eventually shooting a very nice 58.8 percent from the field and 87.5 percent (21-of-24) from the line. Xavier had just nine turnovers while scoring 15 points off 13 DePaul turnovers on the other side. That makes a 3-1 run in the last four games for the Musketeers, and they’ve scored a combined 176 points in their last two outings.

As for Butler, they did well against a pretty decent Georgetown team in their last outing, shooting 57.7 percent from the field. The 14 turnovers for 19 Hoyas points got the Bulldogs into some trouble though, so they’ll have to watch the mistakes on Tuesday. Butler has scored 82 or more points in three straight games now, so this one could reach a fairly high total if both teams keep the shooting up.

The Georgetown Hoyas and the Butler Bulldogs meet Saturday in college basketball action from the Hinkle Fieldhouse. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Butler vs Georgetown Prediction.

Georgetown Recap

The Georgetown Hoyas come into this game looking to build on their 60-46 win over Seton Hall last time out to improve to 15-9 on the year. After this game, Georgetown will head home for a matchup with the Providence Friars.

Hoyas Looking To Find Some Consistency

Thomas Sorber leads the Hoyas in scoring and rebounding with 14.7 PPG and 8.9 RPG while Jayden Epps has 12.3 PPG with 2.2 APG. Micah Peavy has 14.4 PPG with 5.4 RPG and 3.3 APG and Malik Mack has 13.1 PPG with 4 RPG and 4.6 APG as well to lead the Hoyas in assists while capping off the group of double-digit scorers for Georgetown so far this season. As a team, Georgetown is averaging 70.8 PPG on 45.1% shooting from the field, 30.9% from three and 71.2% from the foul line this season.

Why the Georgetown Hoyas will win

  • Georgetown has won five of its last six day games against non-AP-ranked opponents.

Butler Recap

The Butler Bulldogs come into this game looking to add on to their 82-81 win over Providence last time out to improve to 11-13 on the year. After this game, Butler will head back on the road for a game against Xavier.

Bulldogs Win Back-To-Back Games

Jahmyl Telfort leads Butler in scoring and assists with 15.7 PPG and 3.4 APG along with 4.5 RPG while Pierre Brooks II has 14.8 PPG with 5.3 RPG and Patrick McCaffery has 12.2 PPG with 5 RPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Butler up to this point in the year. Andre Screen has chipped in 8.3 PPG with a team-high 5.9 RPG to lead the Bulldogs in rebounding while Finley Bizjack has 8.1 PPG with 3 RPG and 2.1 APG and Kolby King has 5.8 PPG with 4.5 RPG as well. As a team, Butler is averaging 73.3 PPG on 45.6% shooting from the field, 36.9% from behind the arc and 74.2% from the foul line so far this season.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

  • Georgetown has lost 12 of its last 14 road day games against the Big East Conference.
  • Butler has won five of its last six day games at Hinkle Fieldhouse against non-AP-ranked opponents.

Total Points Facts

  • Nine of Georgetown’s last 10 road day games against the Big East Conference have produced a total of 146+ points.
  • Eight of Butler’s last nine games against Conference opponents have produced a total of 143+ points.

Butler vs Georgetown Prediction

I’m on the under in this game. Georgetown hasn’t been the sharpest offensive unit in Big East play and I don’t know if I expect that to change here either. However, one thing that Ed Cooley teams are usually predicated on is good defense and being well-coached. I think the defense travels here, and gives an average Butler team a hard time on that end of the floor. The first meeting between these two finished 73-70 earlier this season and a similar first to 70 wins kind of game would not surprise me here in the slightest. Give me the under in this game.

The DePaul Blue Demons and the Xavier Musketeers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Cintas Center. Here’s a Xavier vs DePaul prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Xavier vs DePaul pick.

DePaul Blue Demons Betting Preview

DePaul got off to a flawless start through their first seven games this year. Since late November however, the Blue Demons have struggled in the win column. Victories over Southern Indiana, Prairie View A&M, Mercer, Duquesne, Eastern Illinois, Northern Illinois and Valparaiso came in that initial opening run, then a rough 2-9 stretch featuring only wins over Wichita State and Loyola Maryland. Otherwise the losses were versus Texas Tech, Providence, St. John’s, Northwestern, UConn, Villanova, Seton Hall, Xavier and Marquette in that time. Since then DePaul is just 2-5 overall. Those wins came versus Georgetown and Seton Hall. Otherwise it was losses to Creighton, Butler, UConn, Villanova and Marquette. That gives the Blue Demons a spotty 11-14 overall record through their first 25 games this year.

In the Marquette matchup on Tuesday, the Blue Demons came into the second half with a modest two-point deficit. DePaul was outscored 34-26 the rest of the way however, leading to a 68-58 loss in the end. Tops in scoring was CJ Gunn with 14 points, five rebounds and two assists in 37 minutes of work. Isaiah Rivera added 13 points with six rebounds and three steals, while David Thomas came off the bench for 11 points, two rebounds, one assist and five turnovers in 31 minutes out on the floor.

Xavier Musketeers Betting Preview

Over on the Xavier side, they’ve been a mixed bag this year. The Musketeers have some nice runs in the books so far, as well as some sketchy stretches. Xavier went 8-2 in their first 10 games with losses to only Michigan and TCU among wins otherwise versus Texas Southern, IUPUI, Jackson State, Wake Forest, Siena, South Carolina, South Carolina State and Morgan State in that time. A 1-5 run came next with a lone win over Seton Hall among losses to Cincinnati, UConn, Marquette, Georgetown and St. John’s. Xavier is 6-3 since then though, beating DePaul, Villanova, Marquette, UConn, Georgetown and Providence. The losses otherwise were versus St. John’s, Creighton and Villanova, which gives the Musketeers a 15-10 record through their first 25 games so far this year.

In the Providence matchup on Wednesday, the Musketeers exited the locker room with a 45-30 edge. Xavier was outscored 52-46 the rest of the way but held on for the win in the end 91-82. Dante Maddox was the team’s leading scorer with his 26 points, three rebounds and one assist. Zach Freemantle added 23 points with nine boards and one steal, while Ryan Conwell had 17points with eight boards and four assists. Dailyn Swain chipped in with 13 points, four rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes of work as well.

Why the Xavier Musketeers will win

  • DePaul has lost each of its last nine road day games against the Big East Conference.
  • Xavier has won each of its last nine day games at Cintas Center against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • DePaul has lost the first half in each of its last nine road day games against the Big East Conference.

Why the DePaul Blue Demons will win

  • Xavier has lost three of its last four day games against the Big East Conference at Cintas Center.
  • Xavier has lost the first half in three of its last four home games against the Big East Conference.

Xavier vs DePaul Prediction

I’ll stay with Xavier. The Musketeers got past Providence in a road matchup without too much difficulty during their latest outing—despite giving up 53.7 percent shooting along the way. Xavier scored 21 points off 13 Friars turnovers and shot pretty well themselves (44.1 percent) in the victory. During this 3-3 run, Xavier has managed to score 71 or more points in all but one game (68 in the loss to Villanova).

The last time these teams met up back on January 11, Xavier took a 77-63 victory. The Musketeers shot well in that one (48.1 percent) and DePaul did not (39.6 percent). The 36-28 rebounding edge helped Xavier quite a bit, but both teams could stand to cut down on the turnovers during this rematch (12 apiece). The Musketeers should be able to control most facets of the game in this home matchup, so I don’t think they’ll have too many issues if they play to their capabilities.

  • Each of Butler’s last 10 night games against the Big East Conference has produced a total of 138+ points.
  • Four of Seton Hall’s last five games against Conference opponents have produced a total of 135 or fewer points.

  • Seton Hall ranks 358th among Division 1 teams for points per game this season (63.5).
  • Butler ranks 363rd among Division 1 teams for steals per game this season (3.5).
  • Butler ranks 362nd among Division 1 teams for opponent turnovers per game this season (7.5).

Seton Hall vs Butler Injury Report

Butler will be without Jamie Kaiser Jr. and Augusto Cassia. Seton Hall will be without Zion Harmon and Chaunce Jenkins, while Dylan Addae-Wusu is questionable with an ankle injury.

Seton Hall vs Butler Prediction

The Seton Hall Pirates aren’t getting any love from oddsmakers when they’ve lost nine of their last 10 games and haven’t won a game since January 8. Seton Hall is banged up, and scoring during this losing stretch has been a chore. However, let’s not act like Butler is lighting the world on fire as the Bulldogs have lost eight of their last 10 games, and they have yet to win on the road this season. Seton Hall also hung around with Butler last month, losing by just five points and covering the line of six points. Injuries and low confidence aside, this is a winnable game for Seton Hall. I’ll grab the points with the Pirates.

In this article, we will formulate a Georgetown vs Butler Prediction for this college basketball game on Friday, January 31st, at the Capital One Arena. Let’s take a look at the Georgetown Hoyas vs Butler Bulldogs pick.

How Can Butler Bounce Back?

Butler didn’t look awful in the last game against Marquette but they couldn’t make the winning shots and ended up losing 78-69. At halftime, they were down 42-25 but in the second half the offense scored only 27 points and they ended up losing. Butler allowed Marquette to shoot 50.8 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from behind the three-point line. Two games ago against DePaul, Butler ended up winning 86-69.

Butler comes into this game with a 9-12 record overall and they have gone 10-11 against the spread. The over has hit in 11 of the 21 games so far this season. Butler is averaging 73 points while their defense is giving up 72 points per game. The offense is ranked 226th in the league while the defense is ranked 203rd in the league. Jahmyl Telfort is averaging 16.2 points while shooting 44.7 percent from the field and 32.5 percent from behind the three-point line.

Why Georgetown Will Beat Butler

  • Butler has lost each of its last six road night games against Conference opponents.
  • Georgetown has won seven of its last eight games at Capital One Arena against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • Georgetown has won the first half in seven of its last eight games at Capital One Arena against non-AP-ranked opponents.

Georgetown Blown Out

Georgetown faced off against St. John’s in the last game and they really didn’t look good. Georgetown faced off against St John’s and they only scored 41 points. The defense wasn’t awful giving up 66 points, but they still didn’t have much of a shot. Malik Mack put up 13 points, five rebounds, and three assists. He was the only player to score in double figures and they need to get the offense going here.

Georgetown is averaging 70.7 points while their defense is giving up 65.1 points per game. The offense is ranked 273rd in the league while the defense is ranked 32nd in the league. One issue for this team is they aren’t getting to the free-throw line. They are averaging only 10.86 free throws per game which is 338th in the league. Thomas Sorber is averaging 14.4 points while shooting 51.2 percent from the field and 18.8 points per game.

Georgetown vs Butler Prediction

Away from home, this season has been a struggle for Butler and they are going to have some major issues getting going here. Georgetown’s defense overall this season actually hasn’t been bad and they are giving up only 65.1 points per game. Butler’s offense is going to really struggle to get any sort of offense going here, and they will move to 0-6 on the road. Back Georgetown to win this game and cover the spread.

The Marquette Golden Eagles and the Butler Bulldogs meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Hinkle Fieldhouse. Here’s a Butler vs Marquette prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Butler vs Marquette pick.

Marquette Golden Eagles Betting Preview

Marquette has maintained form for most of the season, and they’ve got a great record in the bag so far. The Golden Eagles have just one spotty run over three games (back in December); otherwise, they’ve got only one loss in the books. Wins over Stony Brook, George Mason, Central Michigan, Maryland, Purdue, Georgia, Stonehill, and Western Carolina came in Marquette’s first eight games. The next three were losses to Iowa State and Dayton sandwiched around a win over Wisconsin. Marquette is 8-1 in their last nine games, though. The lone defeat came on January 18 versus Xavier (by two points). Otherwise, it’s been wins over Butler, Xavier, Providence, Creighton, DePaul, Georgetown, Seton Hall, and Villanova in that time, giving the Golden Eagles a 17-3 overall record through 20 games so far.

In the Villanova matchup back on Friday, the Golden Eagles hit a 36-26 advantage in the first half, Marquette kept the heat on from there, notching a 51-48 run in the second for an 87-74 victory in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Stevie Mitchell with 21 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Chase Ross added 18 points with four rebounds and two assists, while Kam Jones had 16 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Tops off the bench was Royce Parham with his 10 points and two boards in 11 minutes of work.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

Over on the Butler side, they got off to a great start this year. Once December hit, however, the Bulldogs hit the skids in a major losing streak. Things have gotten better over the last three games, but Butler is still stuck below .500 overall. The lone loss during their 7-1 start came versus Austin Peay. Otherwise, it was wins over Missouri State, Western Michigan, SMU, Merrimack, Northwestern, Mississippi State, and Eastern Illinois in that eight-game opening span. The losing streak hit after that however, as the Bulldogs fell to Houston, North Dakota State, Wisconsin, Marquette, UConn, Villanova, St. John’s, Providence, and Creighton during a string of tough matchups. Since then it’s been a 2-1 run for Butler. They’ve got an OT loss to UConn sandwiched between losses to Seton Hall and DePaul in that time, giving the team a 9-11 overall record through the first 20 outings of this 2024-25 campaign.

On Saturday matched up against DePaul, the Bulldogs held a 40-33 advantage in the first half. Butler outscored the Blue Demons 46-36 the rest of the way, resulting in an 86-69 win in the end. Leading team scorer Pierre Brooks posted 29 points with 13 rebounds and two assists with one steal. Jahmyl Telfort added 18 points with four boards and two assists, while Finley Bizjack put up 17 points with two rebounds and two assists. Andre Screen was solid off the bench with 15 points and eight rebounds with two blocks in 26 minutes as well.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

  • The home team has won five of Butler’s last six games.
  • Butler has won the first half in six of its last seven night games at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Why the Marquette Golden Eagles will win

  • Butler has lost each of its last eight games against Top 10 AP-ranked opponents.
  • Marquette has won each of its last seven night games.
  • Marquette has won the first half in each of its last five night games at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Butler vs Marquette Prediction

I’ll stay with Marquette. The Golden Eagles handled a decent Villanova team quite well in their last outing, hitting 46.7 percent from the field with 34 rebounds and 13 team assists. Marquette got 16 points off 13 Wildcats turnovers and did well from the line on a 22-of-27 rate (81.5 percent). During this current 8-1 run, the Golden Eagles have scored 72 or more points in every win. If they can reach that threshold on Tuesday Marquette will be in great shape.

The last time these teams met up, Marquette secured an 80-70 win at home on December 18. The Eagles gave up a healthy bit of shooting (51.1 percent) but also posted 14 points off 14 Bulldogs turnovers. Marquette can’t rely on ball-handling mistakes this time, but I think the Eagles will be okay if they play to their capabilities.

The DePaul Blue Demons and Butler Bulldogs meet Saturday in college basketball action at the Hinkle Fieldhouse. Here’s a Butler vs DePaul Prediction. This article will include a Butler vs DePaul Pick.

DePaul Blue Demons Betting Preview

The DePaul Blue Demons lost to Creighton, beat Georgetown, and they play UConn, Seton Hall, and Villanova next. The DePaul Blue Demons are averaging 75.7 points on 44.4 percent shooting and allowing 73.8 points on 5 percent shooting. Jacob Meyer is averaging 13 points and 3.6 rebounds, while CJ Gunn is averaging 11.5 points and 3.3 rebounds. Isaiah Rivera is dishing 1.6 assists and NJ Benson is grabbing 5.8 rebounds. The DePaul Blue Demons are shooting 36.6 percent from beyond the arc and 71.1 percent from the free throw line. The DePaul Blue Demons are allowing 35.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 3.4 rebounds per game.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Butler Bulldogs beat Seton Hall, lost to UConn, and they play Marquette, Georgetown, and Seton Hall next. The Butler Bulldogs are averaging 72.6 points on 44.7 percent shooting and allowing 71.9 points on 41.8 percent shooting. Jahmyl Terlfort is averaging 15.7 points and 4.7 rebounds, while Pierre Brooks II is averaging 14.4 points and 1.7 assists. Patrick McCaffery is the third double-digit scorer and Finley Bizjack is grabbing 2.9 rebounds. The Butler Bulldogs are shooting 36.4 percent from beyond the arc and 73.7 percent from the free throw line. The Butler Bulldogs are allowing 31.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 32.1 rebounds per game.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

  • DePaul has lost each of its last 16 day games against the Big East Conference.
  • Butler has won each of its last 10 home games against DePaul.
  • DePaul has lost the first half in each of its last 12 day games against the Big East Conference.

Why the DePaul Blue Demons will win

  • Butler has lost 10 of its last 11 games.
  • The road team has won each of DePaul’s last four games.
  • The road team has won the first half in four of DePaul’s last five games.

Butler vs DePaul Injury Report

DePaul doesn’t have a player listed on its injury report. Butler will be without Jamie Kaiser Jr. and Augusto Cassia, while Kolby King is questionable with a concussion.

Butler vs DePaul Prediction

I’m not excited to back either Butler or DePaul, as these are two slumping teams that aren’t covering numbers. However, Butler is at home, where six of its eight wins this season have come. DePaul is 1-5 SU on the road. The DePaul Blue Demons are also 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games. Butler has won nine straight games against DePaul and is 7-1-1 ATS in those games. DePaul hasn’t won a game against Butler since January 2020. If Butler can’t take care of business in this game at home, it’s curtains on its season. I’ll lay the chalk with the Bulldogs.

In this article, we will formulate a UConn vs Butler Prediction for this college basketball game on Tuesday, January 21st, at the XL Center. Let’s take a UConn Huskies vs Butler Bulldogs pick.

Butler Has Some Issues

Butler has some major issues all season but they are coming off a victory here. Butler scored 82 points and that was enough for them to hold onto the victory. At halftime, they were up 41-35. Butler shot 51 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from behind the three-point line. Pierre Brooks II had a strong game putting up 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists. There were four different players that put up at least 10 points.

Butler sits with an 8-10 record overall and they have gone 8-10 against the spread. Butler is averaging 72.2 points while their defense is giving up 71.5 points per game. The offense is ranked 249th in the league while the defense is ranked 187th in the league. Jahmyl Telfort has been the top player for Butler averaging 15.2 points while shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 37.7 percent from behind the thee point line.

UConn Looks to Bounce Back

UConn in the last game faced off against Creighton and they didn’t look great. UConn scored 63 points while the defense gave up 68 points. UConn is shooting 44.8 percent from the field and 31.6  percent from behind the three-point line. There were different players that put up at least 14 points. Hassan Diarra put up 15 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Two games ago against Georgetown, UConn secured a 68-60 victory.

UConn on the season is averaging 80.9 points while their defense is giving up 68.1 points per game. The offense is ranked 50th in the league while the defense is ranked 85th. They are averaging 58.17 field goals attempted per game which is 214th in the league. From the free throw line, they are shooting 78.8 percent which is 11th in the league. Alex Karaban has been the top player averaging 15.6 points while shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from behind the three-point line.

Why UConn Will Beat Butler

  • Connecticut has won each of its last 14 night games at XL Center.
  • Butler has lost eight of its last nine away games when playing with a rest advantage.
  • Connecticut has won the first half in each of its last six Tuesday home games against the Big East Conference.

UConn vs Butler Prediction

UConn struggled in the last game and they are going to bounce back here. UConn is averaging 80.9 points per game and they are going to put on a show again. They have a balanced attack with the offense, and they are going to be better here. Butler’s defense isn’t going to give them any short. Butler is averaging 72.2 points per game but they aren’t going to get close to that here. Back UConn against the spread.

In this article, we will formulate a Butler vs Seton Hall prediction for this College Basketball game on Wednesday, January 15th at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this College Basketball matchup.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Butler Bulldogs are 7-10 (0-6) this year after they lost to Creighton by a score of 80-76 in their last game. Butler was tied at 43 at halftime, but they only scored 33 points in the second half for the loss. The Bulldogs shot 47.6% from the field, 32% on three-pointers, and 66.7% on free throws in the game. Patrick McCaffery led Butler with 21 points and seven rebounds, while Pierre Brooks II added 14 points and seven rebounds in the game.

Prior to that loss, the Bulldogs lost to Providence by a score of 84-65 and St. John’s by a score of 70-62. Butler has lost nine games in a row, but only three of them have been by double digits. Butler has scored 71.6 points per game and they have allowed 71.1 points per game, while also averaging 35.4 rebounds and 14.1 assists per game this season. Jahmyl Telfort is averaging 15.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, while Pierre Brooks II is averaging 14.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game this year. Butler is shooting 44.2% from the field, 73.5% on free throws, and 37.2% on three-pointers this season.

Seton Hall Pirates Betting Preview

The Seton Hall Pirates are 6-10 (1-4) this season after they lost to Providence by a score of 91-85 in their last game. Seton Hall was tied at 41 at halftime, but they allowed 50 points in the second half for the loss. The Pirates shot 44.9% from the field, 31.8% on three-pointers, and 80% on free throws in the game. Isaiah Coleman led Seton Hall with 26 points and four rebounds, while Chaunce Jenkins added 17 points and six rebounds in the loss.

Prior to that game, the Pirates defeated DePaul by a score of 85-80 but did lose to Xavier by a score of 94-72 before that. Seton Hall has lost six of their last seven games and they started conference play with a loss to Villanova and Georgetown. Seton Hall has scored 64.6 points per game and they have allowed 66.6 points per game, while also averaging 34.3 rebounds and 11.9 assists per game this season. Isaiah Coleman is averaging 15.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, while Chaunce Jenkins is averaging 11.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game this year. Seton Hall is shooting 40.8% from the field, 65.4% on free throws, and 34.8% on three-pointers this season.

Why Seton Hall will beat Butler

  • Butler has lost each of its last nine games.
  • Seton Hall has won each of its last six games against Butler.
  • Seton Hall has won the first half in seven of its last eight games against Butler.

Total Points Facts

  • Each of Seton Hall’s last five road games against Conference opponents has produced a total of 146+ points.
  • Four of the last five night games between Seton Hall and Butler have produced a total of 127 or fewer points.

Butler vs Seton Hall Prediction

Butler comes into this matchup on a lengthy losing streak and they are looking for their first conference win, but they will be at home for this game. The Bulldogs have allowed 80 and 84 points in their last two games, but they do have the higher shooting percentage in this matchup. Seton Hall is shooting just 40.8% from the field this year and they are scoring 64.6 points per game. The Pirates have allowed at least 91 points in two of their last three games, but they have been competitive in three of their last four. I don’t like either team in this matchup, but I am definitely not laying this many points with this Butler team. Take Seton Hall and the points in this contest.

The Creighton Bluejays and the Butler Bulldogs meet Saturday in college basketball action from Hinkle Fieldhouse. Here’s a Butler vs Creighton prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Butler vs Creighton pick.

Creighton Bluejays Betting Preview

Creighton has certainly had their ups and downs this season, but overall they’re keeping their proverbial heads above water. The Jays took wins in their first four outings of the year over UTRGV, Fairleigh Dickinson, Houston Christian and Kansas City. A losing streak came after that however, as Creighton fell versus Nebraska, San Diego State and Texas A&M. The Bluejays would take wins in their next trio versus Notre Dame, Kansas and UNLV, but then fell in the next pair versus Alabama and Georgetown. Since then it’s been a 2-1 run over the last two games. The Bluejays beat Villanova and St. John’s in consecutive outings, then fell versus Marquette late last week for a 9-6 overall record so far this season.

Matched up against the Golden Eagles last Friday, the Bluejays headed into halftime with a manageable 39-35 deficit. Creighton didn’t end up getting any closer than that however, falling behind even further on a 40-36 run for a 79-71 loss in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Ryan Kalkbrenner, who doubled up on 16 points, 12 rebounds and one assist. Jamiya Neal added 15 points with four rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks. Steven Ashworth put up 13 points with 10 assists for a double-double as well, adding two steals in 39 minutes on the court. Tops in bench scoring was Isaac Traudt with five points and one assist.

Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview

Over on the Butler side, they got off to a very solid start this year, but they’ve since hit the skids in a major way over the last several outings. The Bulldogs would beat Missouri State in their opener, then fell to Austin Peay in game two. Butler hit a nice win streak in the next six games though, taking out Western Michigan, SMU, Merrimack, Northwestern, Mississippi State and Eastern Illinois for a 7-1 start to the season. Since then it’s been all losses, however. Butler has fallen in succession to Houston, North Dakota State, Wisconsin, Marquette, UConn, Villanova, St. John’s and Providence over their last eight outings for a 7-9 overall run thus far this year.

In the Providence game on Wednesday, the Bulldogs came out of halftime looking at a 37-29 deficit and were in trouble. Butler limped through the second half on a 47-36 deficit, resulting in a sizable loss 84-65 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Jahmyl Telfort on 17 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals, and Pierre Brooks with 17 points, two rebounds and two assists with a block. Patrick McCaffery was the only other team player to finish in double-figures during the defeat, notching 12 points with three rebounds and one assist. Finley Bizjack led the bench scoring with his six points, two rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes.

Why the Butler Bulldogs will win

  • The home team has won each of Creighton’s last seven games.
  • Creighton has lost four of its last five away games when playing with a rest advantage.
  • Butler has won the first half in six of its last seven home games against Creighton.

Why the Creighton Bluejays will win

  • Butler has lost each of its last eight games.
  • Creighton has won each of its last 10 Saturday day games.
  • Creighton has won the first half in eight of its last 10 day games.

Butler vs Creighton Prediction

I’m leaning toward Creighton. The Bluejays had a tough matchup versus a good Marquette team in their last outing and couldn’t quite keep pace. Creighton shot a tepid 40 percent from the field in that one with 12 turnovers and 22.6 percent (7-of-31) from 3-point range. The rebounding (a 41-38 edge) was good though, and Creighton held the Eagles to just 41.4 percent shooting on the other side. The Jays have had a couple of scoring duds over their last four games—57 points exactly in two of those—but overall they’re a pretty good team when it comes to scoring this year.

As for Butler, they’ve been below 66 points in three straight games. The Bulldogs have also given up 70 or more points in eight straight (all losses), so Creighton should have plenty of openings in this one.

Providence Friars Betting Preview

The Providence Friars lost to UCONN and Marquette, and they play Seton Hall, Creighton, and Villanova next. The Providence Friars are averaging 70 points on 43.3 percent shooting and allowing 67.5 points on 40.6 percent shooting. Bryce Hopkins is averaging 17 points and 7.7 rebounds, while Jayden Pierre is averaging 13.4 points and 2.9 rebounds. Providence vs Butler Prediction

The Providence Friars have three players questionable at the time of this writing, including their best player in Hopkins. Check the injury report before placing a bet. With that said, I still lean toward Providence. Even with injuries and struggles, the Butler Bulldogs haven’t won a game since December 3, and they’re not scoring consistently. Butler has been held under 70 points in four of its last seven games. Providence has seen six of its seven wins this season come at home. There are no excuses for Providence at home against a Butler team that’s in a free fall. I’ll lay the bucket.
