In the two games that running back Jacob Saylors has played for the St. Louis Battlehawks this season, Saylors has compiled 144 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns, seven receptions and 72 receiving yards.

Looking closer at the data just presented, in the two games that Jacob Saylors has played this season, Saylors has averaged a rather impressive 27.3 Draftkings points a game.

More recently, in the St. Louis Battlehawks 26-9 win over the San Antonio Brahmas last week, St. Louis running back Jacob Saylors certainly played at a high level. More specifically, Saylors amassed a massive 46 rushing yards, three rushing touchdowns, three receptions and 25 receiving yards.

I also like Saylors matchup in this game. Why? The San Antonio Brahamas have struggled to contain opposing running backs this season. In two games played in the UFL regular season, the Brahmas are allowing 173.5 rushing yards to opposing running backs a game. Clearly, that is not good.

In my view, Jacob Saylors is the most likely player to post the most Draftkings points in this UFL regular season game. For that specific reason, I am backing St. Louis Battlehawks running back Jacob Saylors at the captain position for this one game Draftkings UFL Showdown contest.

DC Defenders quarterback Jordan Ta’amu has certainly been a key contributor to this Defenders team this season. Having stated that, how has Ta’amu been playing from a statistical standpoint?

Through eight games played for the DC Defenders in 2024, Defenders quarterback Jordan Ta’amu has averaged 173.8 passing yards, 1.4 passing touchdowns, and 19.5 rushing yards a game.

More recently, in the Defenders 26-21 loss to the St. Louis Battlehawks last week, DC Defenders quarterback Jordan Ta’amu accumulated 19.9 Draftkings points.

I like Jordan Ta’amu’s matchup this week as well. Why? Ta’amu will be facing a Memphis Showboats defense that has had issues containing opposing quarterbacks all year. In eight games played in the UFL this season, the Memphis Showboats are ranked a dreadful eighth in total passing yards allowed a game to the quarterback position. Keep in mind that the UFL has a total of eight teams in the league. Having stated, being ranked eighth in any defensive category is not good.

In conclusion, I fully expect Defenders quarterback Jordan Ta’amu to post quality fantasy numbers versus this vulnerable Memphis Showboats defense later today.

Daewood Davis, WR $11,000

Talented Showboats wide receiver Daewood Davis has been targeted quite often by Memphis quarterbacks Case Cookus and Troy Williams this season. Let me be more specific. Memphis Showboats quarterbacks have combined to target Daewood Davis a robust 63 times in eight games played in 2024.

Of those 63 targets just noted, Daewood Davis has accumulated 38 receptions, 443 receiving yards, and 5 receiving touchdowns. That is the type of production I need from players I select for my flex positions.

Ty Scott, WR $7,600

I think it’s fair to say that DC Defenders quarterback Jordan Ta’amu certainly enjoys throwing the football to Ty Scott. Why do I say that? Let me present you with the relevant player data to answer that question. In the DC Defenders last three games played this season, Defenders quarterback Jordan Ta’amu has targeted DC Defenders wide receiver Ty Scott a total of 16 times.

Of those 16 targets just noted, Ty Scott accumulated 9 receptions, 179 receiving yards, and 2 touchdowns.

In my opinion, Ty Scott presents the best fantasy value of any player on this one game slate.

Last week, St. Louis starting quarterback AJ McCarron suffered an ankle injury in the St. Louis Battlehawks loss to the Birmingham Stallions. Earlier today, the St. Louis Battlehawks officially declared AJ McCarron as out for this Sunday’s matchup with the Defenders.

The unfortunate loss of AJ McCarron will open the door for other Battlehawks players to prosper on the offensive side of the football. Which St. Louis player do I think will benefit the most from the loss of AJ McCarron? For me, the answer to that question is talented St. Louis Battlehawks running back Jacob Saylors. Having stated that, how has Jacob Saylors been playing recently?

In the St. Louis Battlehawks last five games played this season, St. Louis running back Jacob Saylors has accumulated 274 rushing yards, 4 rushing touchdowns, 17 receptions, and 95 receiving yards.

Looking at the data just presented more closely, in the St. Louis Battlehawks 30-26 loss to the Birmingham Stallions last week, Jacob Saylors accumulated 29.8 total Draftkings points. It has to be said, those are some outstanding fantasy numbers from the St. Louis running back.

I noted in the rules section above just how important it is to select the correct captain for your Draftkings lineup if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest. Having stated that, I think that St. Louis Battlehawks running back Jacob Saylors fits the captain narrative perfectly for this one game slate.

Ty Scott, WR $4,600

I think it’s fair to say that DC Defenders quarterback Jordan Ta’amu certainly enjoys throwing the football to Defenders wide receiver Ty Scott. Why do I say that? Let me present you with the relevant player data to answer that question. In seven games played in the UFL this season, DC Defenders quarterback Jordan Ta’amu has targeted Defenders wide receiver Ty Scott a total of 20 times.

Of those 20 targets just noted, Ty Scott accumulated 11 receptions, 262 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns.

It should be noted that the talented DC Defenders wider receiver Kelvin Harmon suffered a hamstring injury this week and will not suit up for Sunday’s game. The loss of Harmon should funnel more targets to Ty Scott.

In two games played in the UFL this season, the Arlington Renegades are ranked seventh in total Draftkings points allowed a game (21.8) to the quarterback position. Keep in mind that the UFL has a total of eight teams in the league. Having stated, being ranked seventh in any defensive category is not good.

In conclusion, I fully expect Defenders quarterback Jordan Ta’amu to post quality fantasy numbers versus this vulnerable Arlington Renegades defense this week.
