The Golden Knights have been one of the top home teams in the NHL this season, but they did lose games one and two on home ice. I know we saw just three goals in game four in this series, but I think we will get back to high scoring hockey here, as Vegas will have to be aggressive to keep up with Edmonton’s fast pace. Edmonton comes into this matchup looking to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series, and they will be on home ice. The Oilers continue to play very well and they have won six games in a row in these playoffs. Vegas had plenty of chances to win game two, but they aren’t getting great goaltending from Hill. I do like how Vegas played in game two and let’s not forget the blown lead in game one, so they are only a few plays away from being up 2-0 themselves. The Edmonton Oilers come into this game looking to take a commanding 2-0 series lead after their 4-2 win over the Golden Knights from game one last time out. Mark Stone looked like he was going to put Vegas on his back early, scoring 2:13 into the game and doubling Vegas’ lead just 6:50 later. Corey Perry would get the Oilers on the board with less than four minutes to go in the opening frame, and that 2-1 score would hold through the rest of the first and all of the second before Leon Draisaitl tied the game at two for Edmonton less than one minute into the third period. Zach Hyman would put the Oilers up for good with 3:02 to play before Connor Brown added an insurance goal just 1:16 later to secure the opening W for Edmonton.

Kings are Blowing It

Remember a couple of games ago where the Kings were up 2-1 and they looked like they were cruising with a 6-2 victory Well those days are suddenly behind them and now they have to win the next two games even to make it to the next round of the playoffs. On Tuesday, the Kings scored one goal in the second period, but that wasn’t enough, as they ultimately lost 3-1. Andrei Kuzmenko scored the one goal for the Kings. 

The defense allowed the Oilers to shoot 45 shots on goa,l and Darcy Kuemper was actually good, saving 43 of the 45 shots that he faced. The Kings need to not allow so many shots in the goal. Adrian Kempe has had a big postseason and he has scored four goals and added six assists. Anze Kopitar has also scored one goal and added seven assists. 

Oilers Are On Fire

The Oilers are on fire, and they have won three games in a row. Two games ago, the Oilers picked up the 4-3 victory in overtime, and on Tuesday, they secured the 3-1 victory. Mattias Janmark, Evander Kane, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins all scored a goal. Calvin Pickard was in goal and he saved 21 of the 22 shots that he faced. Even though the offense was good, the Oilers offense didn’t really get going until the third period, and they need to find a way to get the offense going earlier. 

In the last game the Oilers lost they gave up six goals and they can’t have the defense really struggle again here. Connor McDavid has scored two goals and added eight assists. Leon Draisaitl has scored three goals and added seven assists.
