Why the Dallas Stars will win

  • The Stars have won each of their last six games at American Airlines Center.
  • The Oilers have lost four of their last five games at American Airlines Center after coming off overtime.
  • The Stars have covered the puck line in each of their last nine games against opponents on a winning streak.
  • The Oilers have failed to cover the puck line in three of their last four night games at American Airlines Center after coming off overtime.
  • The Stars have won the third period in each of their last six games as favorites against opponents on a winning streak.

Why the Edmonton Oilers will win

  • The Oilers have won each of their last 10 road games against Central Division opponents.
  • The Stars have lost eight of their last nine Game 1s of a playoff series.
  • The Oilers have covered the puck line in each of their last eight games as underdogs against Central Division opponents.

Stars vs Oilers Injury Report

The Oilers will be without Calvin Pickard, Mattias Ekholm, and Alec Regula.

The Stars will be without Nils Lundkvist.

Stars vs Oilers Prediction

The Stars should be favored at home, where they’ve won six straight games. The Oilers also haven’t played in a week, so who knows if the rest will turn into rust. With that said, we’ve seen the Stars fold in the conference finals in each of the last two years. The Oilers have looked like a team on a mission in these playoffs, and there’s value to getting them in the underdog role given their playoff success dating back to last season. Also, the Oilers have won their last four games as an underdog. With wins in eight of their last nine games and an improved effort defensively, I’m rolling with the Oilers and the more favorable price.

In this article, we will formulate a Stars vs Jets prediction for this NHL game on Saturday, May 17, at American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Winnipeg Jets Betting Preview

The Winnipeg Jets (62-28-4, 45-49 ATS) not only lost their home-ice advantage with a loss in Game 1 of the current series against the Dallas Stars, but they later lost both road games. Although Winnipeg clawed back in the series with a 4-0 win in Game 5 to stay alive, the Jets are facing elimination again. Nikolaj Ehlers led the team with a pair of goals, while Mark Scheifele and Vladislav Namestnikov also scored. Connor Hellebuyck registered a shutout as he stopped all 22 shots he faced.

The Jets average 2.83 goals per game this postseason (9th), while they allow 3.17 GPG (11th). Kyle Connor leads the team with 16 points (5 G and 11 A). Mark Scheifele contributes 10 points (4 G and 6 A), while Neal Pionk has 7 points (1 G and 6 A).

Connor Hellebuyck (6-6-0) will likely take his place in the cage for the Jets on Saturday against the Jets. The 31-year-old is allowing 3.18 goals per game this playoffs with a .863 SV% and two shutouts.

Dallas Stars Betting Preview

The Dallas Stars (57-31-6, 44-50 ATS) have the matchpoint No. 2 on Saturday against the Jets after winning three of the first five games in the series. The Stars had a 3-1 lead prior to Game 5, but for the second time in the series, they lost 4-0. Jake Oettinger saved 31 of 34 shots he faced, while the offense failed to score for the third time this playoffs.

The Stars score 2.67 goals per game on average in the playoffs (10th), while they concede 3.08 GPG (8th). This postseason, Mikko Rantanen leads the team with 19 points (10 G and 9 A). Roope Hintz has 10 points (5 G and 10 A), while Thomas Harley chips in with 9 points (3 G and 6 A).

Jake Oettinger (7-5-0) is expected to start for the Stars at the goal on Saturday against the Jets. The 26-year-old is allowing 2.60 goals per game this playoffs with a .916 SV% and no shutouts.

Total Goals Facts

  • Twelve of the last 13 games between the Jets and Stars have gone UNDER the total goals line.
  • Each of the Jets’ last five night games against the Stars following a win have gone UNDER the total goals line.
  • Four of the last five games between two teams from the Central Division have gone UNDER the total goals line.
  • The ‘Over 1.5 Goals Period 1′ market has hit in four of the Stars’ last five games as favorites.
  • The ‘Over 1.5 Goals Period 1′ market has hit in 11 of the Jets’ last 15 road games against Western Conference opponents.

Matchup/League Facts

  • The Dallas Stars rank 6th in the league for goals against per game this season (2.71).
  • The Dallas Stars are one of seven teams to rank in the top 10 for both goals scored and goals conceded per game this season.
  • The Winnipeg Jets rank T3rd in the league for goals per game this season (3.35).
  • The Winnipeg Jets are one of only three teams in the league to rank top 5 for both goals for and goals against per game this season.

Stars vs Jets Prediction

The Jets won six of the previous ten H2H encounters, and lead this season’s series 5-4. For the second straight game, the Jets play with their backs against the wall, and I am not sure who will emerge victorious on Saturday. One thing I do know is that we’re going to have a tight, low-scoring affair, which was the case in four of five games of the series. Interestingly, the Jets shut the Stars out in both wins, and even though I don’t think it will happen here, I am going with Under.

Jets vs Stars Prediction

I’m on the Stars in this one. I know Winnipeg’s been a much better team at home this season and Dallas hasn’t been as strong from a record perspective, but the thing is that I think the Stars have started to figure out the Jets and figure out Connor Hellebuyck. They’ve been able to just keep finding a way up to this point. I think this is one of those games that’s going to be hard fought, but in the end, I just think the Stars are the better team and find the win to advance. Give me Dallas in this one.

The Stars will be without Miro Heiskanen and Nils Lundkvist.

Stars vs Jets Prediction

The Jets have yet to win a road game in these playoffs, and they’re losing those games by an average of 3.75 goals. That pretty much speaks for itself, folks. The Jets have seen 19 of their 27 losses this season come on the road. The Stars now have 32 wins at home, and they’ve won their playoff games when the offense shows up even a little. In fact, the Stars have won 19 of their last 28 games overall when they score at least two goals.

You can argue the Jets have been the better team this season overall and the plus money is attractive in pretty much a must win spot, but it’s hard to ignore the home / road splits for these teams. The price also isn’t steep enough to take a shot. Give me the Stars to go up 3-1 in this series.

Stars vs Jets Prediction

I’m on the under here. It’s been the theme of the regular season meetings between these two teams, and I think it could be the case for this game as well, with so much at stake for both teams. Game three is usually a big game for shifting momentum in a playoff series. This game and series features two of the better goaltenders in the NHL. I think this could be a low-scoring defensive battle, so give me the under in what I think could end up being a first to 3 wins kind of scenario.

Jets vs Stars Prediction

Both of these teams were able to win a game seven to advance to the second round, but Dallas got the 3-2 win in game one. The Stars really didn’t play that well in the game, but Rantanen saved the day with a hat trick in the second period. Winnipeg controlled the pace of the game and had plenty of chances, but their power play went 0-4, which was a huge reason for the loss. On the bright side for Winnipeg, we saw a very good game from Hellebuyck in net and he continues to play well at home in the playoffs. I think we are going to see an even better performance from Winnipeg in this matchup and I think they could run away with it like Colorado did against Dallas in games four and six. Take the Jets here.

Jets vs Stars Prediction

I’m leaning towards the Dallas Stars here. Connor Hellebuyck has been lights out at home for the most part this season, but you could make a strong argument that they’re lucky to be in the position they’re in. Sure, playoff hockey is sometimes about creating your own luck and getting the bounces late in the year, but the Stars put themselves in this spot a lot more than the Jets did, in my opinion. I think Jake Oettinger’s been the better goalie to this point. Give me the Stars to steal home ice and draw first blood here.

Stars vs Avalanche Prediction

Colorado was able to bounce back from a sluggish second period in game six to get a huge win to force game seven here. The Avalanche have outscored Dallas 11-4 in their last two home games, but they will be on the road for this contest, where they lost 6-2 in game five. Dallas is missing some key pieces due to injury, but they have played very well in this series and nearly ended it in six games. We have seen 11 and 8 goals scored in the last two games of this series and I think we can get up and over 5.5 goals here. I know game seven’s are historically lower scoring, but the goalies have been inconsistent in this series and Colorado has generated a ton of shots on goal. Take the over here.

    • Six of the last eight games between teams from the same division have gone OVER the total goals line.

Avalanche vs Stars Prediction

I’m on the Avalanche in this one. It’s an interesting series that’s gone back and forth with swings both ways, but I truthfully had this as a series that was going seven from the jump, and I honestly expect no different here. These are two of the NHL’s best and have played like it for the most part in this series, and I never want to go against Nathan MacKinnon with his back against the wall and season on the line. In the end, I think we’re headed back to the Lone Star State when all is said and done. Give me the Avalanche in this one.

In this article, we will formulate a Stars vs Avalanche prediction for this NHL game on Monday, April 28, at the
American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Colorado Avalanche Betting Preview

The Colorado Avalanche (51-29-6, 38-48 ATS) responded to back-to-back overtime losses to tie the series against the Dallas Stars at 2-2 with a convincing 4-0 victory a couple of nights ago. Captain Gabriel Landeskog scored his first goal in nearly three years, while Logan O’Connor, Nathan MacKinnon, and Samuel Girard also scored for the Avalanche. Colorado outshot Dallas 48-23, and Mackenzie Blackwood recorded his fifth shutout of the season after stopping all 23 shots he faced.

The Avalanche average 3.33 goals per game this year (6th), while they allow 2.82 GPG (11th). Nathan MacKinnon leads the team with 121 points (36 G and 85 A). Cale Makar contributes 94 points (30 G and 64 A), while Artturi Lehkonen has 47 points (28 G and 19 A).

Mackenzie Blackwood (30-23-6) will likely take his place in the cage for the Avs on Monday against the Stars. The 28-year-old is allowing 2.55 goals per game this year with a .912 SV% and five shutouts.

Dallas Stars Betting Preview

The Dallas Stars (52-28-6, 39-47 ATS) fought back from an opening loss in the series and secured two overtime wins to make it 2-1 and restore the home-ice advantage. However, the Stars were powerless in Game 4 as they were blown away by the aggressive Avs, who didn’t give them a breather. Jake Oettinger saved 31 of 34 shots he faced, while Casey DeSmith stopped 13 of 14 shots.

The Stars score 3.35 goals per game on average (3rd), while they concede 2.71 GPG (6th). This season, Matt Duchene leads the team with 82 points (30 G and 52 A). Jason Robertson has 80 points (35 G and 45 A), while Wyatt Johnston chips in with 73 points (33 G and 40 A).

Jake Oettinger (37-20-4) is expected to start for the Stars at the goal on Monday against the Avalanche. The 26-year-old is allowing 2.59 goals per game this year with a .909 SV% and two shutouts.

Total Goals Facts

  • Each of the Avalanche’s last six games as favorites following a home win have gone UNDER the total goals line.
  • Seven of the last eight night games between the Avalanche and Stars at American Airlines Center have gone OVER the total goals line.
  • The ‘Over 1.5 Goals Period 2’ market has hit in each of the Avalanche’s last nine road games against the Stars.
  • The ‘Over 1.5 Goals Period 1′ market has hit in eight of the Stars’ last 10 games as underdogs against Western Conference opponents.

Matchup/League Facts

  • The Dallas Stars rank 6th in the league for goals against per game this season (2.71).
  • The Dallas Stars are one of seven teams to rank in the top 10 for both goals scored and goals conceded per game this season.
  • The Colorado Avalanche rank 2nd in the league for Period 3 goals scored per game this season (1.32).
  • The Colorado Avalanche rank 3rd in the league for shots against per game this season (25.9).

Stars vs Avalanche Prediction

The teams have traded wins in the past couple of years, as each recorded five of the previous ten H2H encounters. This season, the Avs won four of seven H2Hs. If they had a bit more luck, the Avalanche would be at least 3-1 up in this series, and maybe they would sweep the Stars, but Dallas’ two OT wins prevented them from advancing to the next round. I think the Avs have a better offense and will score 4+ goals here as they deserve to have a lead in the series. Still, I am not backing them to win, I am going with the goals instead. Back Over.

The Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche meet Saturday in the NHL playoffs Game 4 at the Ball Arena. Here’s a Avalanche vs Stars Prediction. This article will include a Avalanche vs Stars Pick.

Dallas Stars Betting Preview

The Dallas Stars look for three straight wins to take a 3-1 series lead. The Stars look to win three straight games for the first time since March 29 – April 3.

The Dallas Stars are averaging 2.33 goals per game and are scoring 30 percent of their power play opportunities. Tyler Seguin leads Dallas with 2 goals, Sam Steel has 2 assists, and Roope Hintz has 12 shots on goal. Defensively, the Dallas Stars are allowing 3 goals per game and are killing 84.6 percent of their opponent’s power plays. Jake Oettinger has allowed 8 goals on 89 shots faced.

Colorado Avalanche Betting Preview

The Colorado Avalanche need a win to even up the series at 2-2. The Avs haven’t lost three straight games since January 20-25.

The Colorado Avalanche are averaging 3 goals per game and are scoring on 15.4 percent of their power play opportunities. Nathan MacKinnon leads Colorado with 3 goals, Logan O’Connor has 3 assists and Cale Makar has 10 shots on goal. Defensively, the Colorado Avalanche are allowing 2.33 goals per game and are killing 70 percent of their opponent’s power plays. Mackenzie Blackwood has allowed 7 goals on 91 shots faced.

Why the Colorado Avalanche will win

  • The Avalanche have won five of their last six night games at Ball Arena against opponents on a winning streak.
  • The Stars have lost four of their last five road games against Central Division opponents.
  • The Stars have failed to cover the puck line in four of their last five games against opponents on a losing streak.
  • The Stars have lost the second period in seven of their last eight games as underdogs against Western Conference opponents when tied after the first period.

Why the Dallas Stars will win

  • The underdogs have won nine of the Stars’ last 10 games.
  • The Avalanche have lost four of their last five games as home favorites.
  • The underdogs have covered the puck line in nine of the Stars’ last 10 games.
  • The Avalanche have failed to cover the puck line in seven of their last eight games against Central Division opponents.
  • The Stars have won the third period in each of their last five night games at Ball Arena.

Colorado Avalanche Player Prop Facts

  • Jonathan Drouin has recorded at least one assist in seven of his last eight appearances against the Stars after playing less than 20 minutes in the Avalanche’s last game.
  • Valeri Nichushkin has scored at least one goal in four of his last five appearances in home playoff games.
  • Jonathan Drouin has recorded at least one point in 10 of his last 11 appearances against the Stars.

Avalanche vs Stars Injury Report

The Colorado Avalanche will be without Tucker Poolman and Sean Behrens. Ross Colton is questionable.

The Stars will be without Miro Heiskanen, Jason Robertson, and Nils Lundkvist.

Avalanche vs Stars Prediction

The Avs haven’t lost three straight games since January and with the last two games being so tight, you could argue they could have the lead in this series. You’d think the Avalanche can get back on track at home. With that said, the Stars have found their confidence with back-to-back overtime wins, and four of the last seven games against the Avs have seen overtime. These are competitive games when the Avs and Stars play and knowing the history, it creates the value with the plus money. If this is another one score game or makes it beyond regulation, I want the more favorable price. Give me the Stars.

  • The Stars have won the third period in each of their last five games as underdogs against Western Conference opponents when leading after the second period.

Colorado Avalanche Player Prop Facts

Avalanche vs Stars Injury Report

The Stars will be without Miro Heiskanen, Jason Robertson, and Nils Lundkvist.

The Colorado Avalanche will be without Tucker Poolman. Ross Colton and Sean Behrens are questionable.

Avalanche vs Stars Prediction

The Avs have been the better team through the first two games, and they’re going to get the benefit of the doubt at home. The Stars have also won just one game over the last few weeks. I get it. However, the Stars have had success on the road this season, and they’ve still won six of the last 10 games against the Avs. The Stars are better than what they’ve shown over the last three weeks, and maybe that overtime win gets them back on track. This line just seems a bit disrespectful to a good Stars side. I’ll take a shot with the Stars.

Stars vs Avalanche Prediction

I’m on the Avalanche here. The Avalanche are an experienced and deep squad that can go toe-to-toe with anyone in the playoff field. I just have concerns with the Stars that the injuries and struggles that this team is currently dealing with is going to be too much to overcome. It’s hard enough to rally from a losing streak, but especially when you have to do so in a playoff series against an Avalanche team that knows what it takes to win at this point in the year. This makes it a tall task. I think the Avalanche take a big 2-0 series lead going back home, so give me Colorado in this one.

Stars vs Avalanche Prediction

I’m on the Avalanche here. I think the injury to Jason Robertson is going to loom large for the Stars at some point. I want to see how it affects the Stars out of the gate before I trust Dallas going forward against a full strength Avalanche team that looks like they’re going to get their captain in Landeskog back at some point sooner rather than later. I think the Avs draw first blood and steal home ice in the series, so give me Colorado in game one here.

In this article, we will formulate a Predators vs Stars prediction for this NHL game on Wednesday, April 16, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Dallas Stars Betting Preview

The Dallas Stars (50-25-6, 37-44 ATS) were on a six-game winning run and secured the second place in the Central Division. After that, they lost six in a row, falling to the Penguins, Wild, Canucks, Jets, Hockey Club, and Red Wings. Dallas will take on the Avalanche in the first round of the playoffs in what should be a spectacular series.

The Stars score 3.38 goals per game on average (3rd), while they concede 2.68 GPG (6th). This season, Matt Duchene leads the team with 81 points (30 G and 51 A). Jason Robertson has 80 points (35 G and 45 A), while Wyatt Johnston chips in with 71 points (33 G and 38 A).

Jake Oettinger (36-17-4) is expected to start for the Stars at the goal on Wednesday against the Predators. The 26-year-old is allowing 2.53 goals per game this year with a .911 SV% and two shutouts.

Nashville Predators Betting Preview

The Nashville Predators (29-44-8, 34-47 ATS) went through a rough patch during which they suffered six consecutive defeats, but bounced back with a pair of wins over the Islanders and Hockey Club. However, the Predators returned to losing ways against the Golden Knights and Hockey Club, allowing even 12 goals in the process. Nashville is 14th in the West with 66 points.

The Predators average 2.56 goals per game this year (32nd), while they allow 3.37 GPG (28th). Filip Forsberg leads the team with 74 points (31 G and 43 A). Jonathan Marchessault contributes 54 points (20 G and 34 A), while Steven Stamkos has 52 points (27 G and 25 A).

Juuse Saros (19-31-6) will likely take his place in the cage for the Predators on Wednesday against the Stars. The 29-year-old is allowing 3.02 goals per game this year with a .894 SV% and four shutouts.

Total Goals Facts

  • Five of the Predators’ last six home games against Central Division opponents have gone UNDER the total goals line.
  • Four of the Stars’ last five night games against Central Division opponents have gone UNDER the total goals line.
  • Four of the last five night games between two teams from the Central Division have gone OVER the total goals line.
  • The ‘Over 1.5 Goals Period 2’ market has hit in each of the last 10 games between the Stars and Predators.
  • The ‘Over 1.5 Goals Period 3′ market has hit in each of the Stars’ last eight games as favorites against the Predators.

Matchup/League Facts

  • The Nashville Predators rank 8th in the league in penalty kill percentage this season (81.01%).
  • The Nashville Predators rank 32nd in the league in short-handed goals this season (1).
  • The Dallas Stars rank 6th in the league for goals against per game this season (2.68).
  • The Dallas Stars are one of seven teams to rank in the top 10 for both goals scored and goals conceded per game this season.

Predators vs Stars Prediction

The Stars won seven of the previous ten H2H encounters, including three of the last four. This season, the Stars lead 2-1, and Dallas won the latest clash two weeks ago in Texas. This game has no significance for either team, so both can have a relaxing approach, which will likely turn into a bunch of goals. The Stars clearly don’t care for the remaining games, and that’s going to be the case on Wednesday as well. Each of Nashville’s last four games produced 7+ goals. I am backing the Over.

In this article, we will formulate a Red Wings vs Stars prediction for this NHL game on Monday, April 14th, at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Detroit Red Wings Betting Preview

The Detroit Red Wings are 37-35-7 this year after they defeated Tampa Bay in overtime by a score of 4-3 in their last game. Detroit led 2-1 in the second period, but they needed a third-period goal to tie the game before winning in overtime. Detroit got goals from Kane, Kasper (2), and Motte, while Lyon stopped 18 out of 21 shots in the game.

Prior to that win, the Red Wings lost to the Panthers by a score of 4-1 and the Canadiens by a score of 4-1. Detroit has split their last six games, and they are currently sixth in the Atlantic standings with 81 points. Detroit has scored 2.80 goals per game, and they have allowed 3.15 goals against per game, while also going 27.2% on the power play and 69.5% on the penalty kill this season. Lucas Raymond has led Detroit with 26 goals, 49 assists, and 185 shots on goal, while Alex DeBrincat has added 36 goals, 31 assists, and 234 shots on goal. Cam Talbot is 20-19-4 with a 2.88 goals against average and a .904 save percentage this season.

Dallas Stars Betting Preview

The Dallas Stars are 50-24-6 this season after they lost to Utah by a score of 5-3 in their last game. Dallas led 2-1 in the second period, but they allowed the next three goals and couldn’t recover in the loss. The Stars were outshot by a total of 34-24, won 50% of the face-offs, and went 1-4 on the power play in the game. Dallas got goals from Johnston, Robertson, and Smith, while DeSmith stopped 29 out of 34 shots in the game.

Prior to that loss, the Stars lost to the Jets by a score of 4-0 and the Canucks by a score of 6-5. Dallas has lost five games in a row, and they are currently second in the Central standings with 106 points. Dallas has scored 3.38 goals per game, and they have allowed 2.64 goals against per game, while also going 22.8% on the power play and 82.4% on the penalty kill this season. Matt Duchene has led Dallas with 30 goals, 51 assists, and 150 shots on goal, while Jason Robertson has added 35 goals, 45 assists, and 210 shots on goal. Jake Oettinger is 36-16-4 with a 2.48 goals against average and a .912 save percentage this year.

Why the Red Wings will beat the Stars

  • The Red Wings have won nine of their last 10 games as home underdogs against opponents on a losing streak.
  • The Stars have lost each of their last five games as favorites.
  • The Red Wings have covered the puck line in nine of their last 10 games as home underdogs against opponents on a losing streak.
  • The Stars have failed to cover the puck line in each of their last six games following a home loss.
  • The Red Wings have won the third period in each of their last six games as underdogs against Central Division opponents when leading after the second period.

Total Goals Facts

  • Each of the Red Wings’ last eight home games following an overtime win have gone OVER the total goals line.
  • Each of the Stars’ last six games against Atlantic Division opponents have gone UNDER the total goals line.
  • The ‘Over 1.5 Goals Period 1′ market has hit in each of the Red Wings’ last eight games after coming off overtime.

  • Jason Robertson has recorded at least one point in each of the Stars’ last 11 games against the Red Wings.

Red Wings vs Stars Prediction

Detroit comes into this matchup after officially being eliminated from the postseason, so it will be interesting to see what kind of effort they have here. The Red Wings are 21-16-3 at home this year, while the Stars are 22-14-3 on the road. Dallas is safely in the playoffs, but they have lost five games in a row and have allowed at least four goals in four of those games. The Stars don’t have much to play for, but with only a few regular-season games left, they should worry about their form entering the playoffs. We have two teams that really don’t care about the outcome of this game, so I will take the Wings with the plus money at home.

Stars vs Hockey Club Prediction

The Hockey Club are playing well down the stretch despite having nothing to play for, and that makes them worth a look in the underdog role. The problem is the Hockey Club are who they are, and that’s a non-playoff team, and it makes them hard to trust against the good teams in the league. The Stars have beaten the Hockey Club three times this season, and they’re 28-9-3 at home.

The Stars also need a win to snap a four-game losing streak, as they can’t go into the playoffs in a funk if they’re serious about making a run. I expect the Stars to tighten up defensively and get a feel good win. Give me the Stars and the PL for max betting value.

In this article, we will formulate a Stars vs Jets prediction for this NHL game on Thursday, April 10, at American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Winnipeg Jets Betting Preview

The Winnipeg Jets (53-21-4, 40-38 ATS) returned home from a three-game road trip on which they lost to the Kings and Hockey Club while they beat the Golden Knights. The Jets defeated the Blues in Winnipeg to move to 110 points. They are still at the top of the Western Conference, four ahead of the Stars, and with a win here, the Jets would secure the No. 1 seed.

The Jets average 3.38 goals per game this year (4th), while they allow 2.32 GPG (1st). Kyle Connor leads the team with 92 points (38G and 54 A). Mark Scheifele contributes 84 points (38 G and 46 A), while Nikolaj Ehlers has 63 points (24 G and 39 A).

Connor Hellebuyck (44-12-3) will likely take his place in the cage for the Jets on Thursday against the Stars. The 31-year-old is allowing 2.03 goals per game this year with a .924 SV% and seven shutouts.

Dallas Stars Betting Preview

The Dallas Stars (50-22-6, 37-41 ATS) were in an excellent run of seven wins in late March to early April, but then lost three consecutive games to the Penguins, Wild, and Canucks, although the last two were in overtime. The Stars currently have 106 points and are 2nd in the West, with three points ahead of the Golden Knights and six more than the Avalanche.

The Stars score 3.42 goals per game on average (3rd), while they concede 2.59 GPG (3rd). This season, Matt Duchene leads the team with 81 points (30 G and 51 A). Jason Robertson has 79 points (34 G and 45 A), while Wyatt Johnston chips in with 69 points (31 G and 38 A).

Jake Oettinger (36-15-4) is expected to start for the Stars at the goal on Thursday against the Jets. The 26-year-old is allowing 2.46 goals per game this year with a .912 SV% and two shutouts.

Total Goals Facts

  • Twelve of the last 13 games between teams from the same division have gone UNDER the total goals line.
  • Each of the Jets’ last six night games have gone UNDER the total goals line.
  • Seven of the Stars’ last eight home games against Central Division opponents have gone UNDER the total goals line.
  • The ‘Over 1.5 Goals Period 1′ market has hit in seven of the Jets’ last eight road games against Western Conference opponents.
  • The ‘Over 1.5 Goals Period 1’ market has hit in four of the last five games between the Jets and Stars at American Airlines Center.

Matchup/League Facts

  • The Dallas Stars rank 3rd in the league for goals against per game this season (2.59).
  • The Dallas Stars are one of only three teams in the league to rank top 5 for both goals for and goals against per game this season.
  • The Winnipeg Jets are one of only three teams in the league to rank top 5 for both goals for and goals against per game this season.
  • The Winnipeg Jets rank 4th in the league for goals per game this season (3.38).

Stars vs Jets Prediction

The teams have traded victories in the past few years, as each recorded five in the previous ten H2H encounters. This season, the Jets lead the series 2-1; they won both home games with an identical 4-1 result, while the Stars won 3-1 in Dallas. All three duels were low-scoring, and eight of the last ten H2Hs produced a maximum of five goals, so I am going with another Under in this one. After all, we have two top 3 defenses and two top 3 goaltenders in the NHL.

In this article, we will formulate a Stars vs Canucks prediction for this NHL game on Tuesday, April 8, at American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Vancouver Canucks Betting Preview

The Vancouver Canucks (35-29-13, 37-40 ATS) lost four of the previous five games and now are practically without a chance of making the playoffs. Vancouver returned home from a six-game road trip, on which they suffered four defeats. At home, the Canucks lost to the Kraken and Golden Knights and beat the Ducks. The Canucks are 10th in the Western Conference with 83 points, eight behind the Wild, who are 8th right now.

The Canucks average 2.83 goals per game this year (21st), while they allow 3.08 GPG (20th). Quinn Hughes leads the team with 72 points (16 G and 56 A). Brock Boeser contributes 49 points (25 G and 24 A), while Elias Pettersson has 45 points (15 G and 30 A).

Kevin Lankinen (24-15-9) will likely take his place in the cage for the Canucks on Tuesday against the Stars. The 29-year-old is allowing 2.67 goals per game this year with a .899 SV% and four shutouts.

Dallas Stars Betting Preview

The Dallas Stars (50-22-5, 37-40 ATS) were on a seven-game winning streak, and just as they got close to the No.1 seed Winnipeg Jets, they lost the previous two games to the Penguins and Wild. The Stars will likely have to be satisfied with the No. 2 seed in the West, but they must fend off the Golden Kights, who are three points behind. Dallas will spend the next three games at home.

The Stars score 3.40 goals per game on average (3rd), while they concede 2.55 GPG (3rd). This season, Matt Duchene leads the team with 79 points (29 G and 50 A). Jason Robertson has 78 points (34 G and 44 A), while Wyatt Johnston chips in with 68 points (31 G and 37 A).

Jake Oettinger (36-15-4) is expected to start for the Stars at the goal on Tuesday against the Canucks. The 26-year-old is allowing 2.46 goals per game this year with a .912 SV% and two shutouts.

Why the Stars will beat the Canucks

  • The Stars have won each of their last seven night games against Western Conference opponents.
  • The Canucks have lost four of their last five games.
  • The Stars have covered the puck line in each of their last four night games.
  • The Canucks have lost the third period in each of their last six games as underdogs against Western Conference opponents when tied after the second period.

Total Goals Facts

  • Each of the Canucks’ last seven games as road underdogs against opponents on a losing streak have gone OVER the total goals line.
  • Six of the Stars’ last seven night games against Pacific Division opponents at American Airlines Center have gone OVER the total goals line.
  • The ‘Over 1.5 Goals Period 3′ market has hit in each of the Canucks’ last nine night games against opponents on a losing streak.
  • The ‘Over 1.5 Goals Period 2′ market has hit in each of the Stars’ last nine home games against Western Conference opponents.

Matchup/League Facts

  • The Dallas Stars rank 3rd in the league for goals against per game this season (2.55).
  • The Dallas Stars are one of only three teams in the league to rank top 5 for both goals for and goals against per game this season.
  • The Vancouver Canucks rank 3rd in the league for power play goals against this season (35).
  • The Vancouver Canucks are one of only four teams to lose 8+ games when leading after Period 2 this season.

Stars vs Canadiens Prediction

The Canucks won six of the previous ten H2H encounters, but the Stars were better in the last four. They met twice this season, and Dallas won 5-3 at home and 4-1 in Vancouver. The Canucks will hardly make it to the playoffs even if they win all the remaining games, while the Stars are still fighting for the No.1 or No. 2 seed. They are a better team and are 28-8-2 at home, so I am backing the Stars to win and cover the puck line, just like they did in both H2Hs this season.

Wild vs Stars Prediction

I’m on the Stars here. I know the Wild catching plus money is tempting considering that the Wild need to keep winning to hold on to the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. However, the Stars are simply the better team, even on a back-to-back, and the Stars likely have the better goaltending option on Sunday with Jake Oettinger likely to start here as well. I’ll roll with Dallas on the road in this one.
